No one has mentioned something very important.
For the grand final, countries will pick which half of the show they will compete in! This will be drawn out at the semifinal qualifiers press conference after each semifinal.

Don't quite understand this. Why do we need a draw to determine in which half the entries will be competing?

You really are unbelievable. There is no justification for allowing a country to select It's own position, no matter how much money they pay. This is a contest, and allowing certain countries to select their own position would nullify that, along with having mass withdrawals they year after.
Oh, wouldn't mind that lol its too big anyway. But they wouldn't withdraw in any case because Eurovision is like the Olympics to many countries.
I think Sweden should choose its place first, get first pick, and then the Big 5.

But why? Where is the justification for it? You don't have a leg to stand on in this argument.

Oh, and those small countries you talk about, yes ESC is big to them, but they wouldn't stay in a contest that would be openly corrupt, which is what you are advocating. Oh, and since you are comparing ESC to the Olympics, why don't we just give the athletes from more "important" countries a 1 second head start in the 100 metres sprint?

My problem with you is that you don't care about Eurovision. You only care about the UK getting a good result, regardless of the cost to the contest as a whole. The changes you propose would kill Eurovision as a contest. Thankfully, EBU aren't stupid enough to implement these changes.

Don't trust wiki! This is how it's going to be:

The so-called Big 5 - France, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom and Italy - will be drawn to the first or second half of the Final during their first individual press conferences.

The position of the host country Sweden was drawn today and they'll perform on position number 16.

^ So the only known position now is Sweden and that's it.

Hm Ok...but which idiot writes that on Wiki then?
Anyhow I wouldn't be suprised if Germany and maybe also the UK will have a late draw, they have the most money...

That are lies. Only Sweden will perform 16th.
But I'm pretty sure that Italy will get a number between 20-26.

There's a reason no one had mentioned this before. It's a new rule. Basically, EBU have caved and re-introduced an element of fairness to the draw. Fantastic result.

So, just to understand it right. Countries will just pick in which the half they want to be in. After that, a number will be randomly chosen?

No you got it wrong.
If countries would pick which half they want, then all would like 2nd half.
There would be a draw for that.
And then the producers will decide the running order in each half of the Final.

Our head of delegation had no idea there wouldn't be a draw for the running order this year, it came as a surprise to him yesterday. :?

Yes, he even asked for advice on his blog a few days earlier in case we got the wildcard. Seems more like poor communication from EBU/SVT to me.

Interesting. Maybe they weren't the only one's to find out at the meeting. Maybe it all kicked off and we ended up with a draw for halves.
