I think that reason for so many withdrawals is not money - I mean participation fee for BHRT is only 15.000 €???? One ordinary citizen can take a credit on that amount. Something else is reason.

Sweden SVT want to make new Melodi from ESC, and they just want to earn maximally from this ESC, and other don't like it.
So SVT got what he deserve

Better news for the second semi on 16 May, where Norway, Netherlands and newcomers Qatar will fight it out for three tickets to the final. ESC Nation are still expecting Dutch singer Anouk to somehow miss out, and we suspect Kevin Borg will have something to do with it. We're just not sure how.

The semifinal qualifiers will meet direct finalists France, United Kingdom, Germany, San Marino, Italy and hosts Sweden in the final on 18 May, for the right to make up new rules for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.
