If you ask me, Portugal and Greece will be in again. I can't imagine a Eurovision year without -especially Greece- and Portugal. I am not sure about Cyprus and I can't say anything about San Marino and Montenegro. They sent 2 joke entries together last year by coming back again, so we can't know what is the point to them.

I think that Montenegro, San Marino, Cyprus & Portugal will participate! I have doubts about Poland and I'm worried for Greece! And Cyprus has not economical problems as Greece. Here in Greece, we see many Cypriots and it seems in our eyes that they have so much money...

I actually can't see why :cy: would withdraw? They finally made it to the finals past year (after not making it for years) and although not ending in the top (undeservingly so imo), their entry still became one of the few somewhat hits (in some markets) from ESC 2012.

Maybe that's just it, they send a popular artist with a hit worthy yet a higher placing alludes them. We have to remember fan expectations like yay Cyprus beat Greece in the teens is nowhere near non fan opinion. On top of that there is a lesser popularity than in Greece. Then there is the current political/ economic situation with the elections and the broadcaster.

I think Greece will find the money, even if they won't have money for anything else LOL...;)they are too successful ESC country to miss it!

Well I don't think that matters. Do you really think that we'll care about entering a european contest (that costs us so much) because we're successful in it, while we don't have money to EAT?

I don't even understand what you're trying to say

Cyprus made it to the finals for the first time in years, and although ending at a quite disappointing position, the song still went on to be one of the few from ESC 2012 with a somewhat impact on charts outside of the home country. Here people who aren't really ESC fans barely remembers most of the songs, but most people remember the Cypriot song... so I think with this knowledge I don't see Cyprus withdrawing.

Lets keep the fingers crossed for Greece participation as we maybe get another good song from there. (This year whatever was not that great as 2001's and 2005's entries, but just a little good...) Also the ratings in Greece will be pretty high then and thats will be great for SVT.

Another thing to note is that Rai has confirmed Italy's participation for next year. xyaay Italy: Participation Confirmed | escXtra
Lets hope the ratings will be higher next year unlike this year and the year before... The Italians interests for eurovision is still very low sadly... :(

What I'm talking about is Cypriot expectations. They have a song that people wish to buy and did but it didn't translate to a top 10 result. For us it's great to see Cyprus in the final again, others that have limited interest care less and probably expect more. As I send it will depend how the election situation spins out. Both sides aren't keen on Cyprus using money for what is a superfluous event at the end of the day.

Does a top. 10 really matter when it had more impact than the vast majority of ESC entries 2012? When's the election? Their last one was 2011...

Fans will follow how songs do in other countries after the contest casual viewers are likely not to. The elections are at the beginning of next year but both sides are using everything to score points in the run up at the moment. ( I believe these are more internal elections of how things are run) The main concern has arose from ESC selection not appearing in any CyBC press release for next spring and it is usually is mentioned. Like Slovakia they need a record company to cover expenses and despite Ivi's success in sales they aren't forthcoming.

This person looks very reliable, they got the 2012 and 2011 selections 100% correct way before anything was made public.
