What's so good about having Sweden? Or Russia? Or Portugal?

They are a European country, and are eligible to enter like any other European country. If their broadcaster wants to participate I don't see any objections. If that isn't enough, Italy has a rich ESC history.

They are in the big 5, because they contribute a lot of money to EBU, if they wouldn't, they wouldn't be in the big 5. If that's the reason why you don't want Italy in ESC, then you should not want UK, France, Germany, and Spain also.

They contribute a lot of money to EBU? WOW, and still ESC have been just fine without them. That's my point... They are direct qualified without doing anything for ESC itself. Let's see if ESC will be so much better with Italy's money...

Italy don't care about ESC. In Sweden it's very big. Sorry but Sweden would be a bigger loss to ESC than Italy.

I will be more than happy if Italy withdrew again. They have done nothing for me in ESC. I will not miss Italy and ESC will do just fine without them as it's done in the past in so many years.

Yes I know that!! This is why I hate this big 5 system.... Why they are qualified directly to final when they don't contribute much to ESC itself?? You said they have pay alot money to EBU when they were abscent. This also prove that this have nothing to do with ESC at all. Then why is it a Bid 5?? They should still pay much money with or without ESC participation.


What I heard from Italian friends is that ESC isn't big in Italy at all!!! Italian people don't care at all.

2. Big 5: Another "We pay so much money that we need to be in the final" country was the last thing ESC needed. Pathetic. If the Italian entries are that great then they should get to final on their own merits.
3. In the 2nd participation after the comeback they take help from SWEDEN.. And people screaming about how much class they are adding the contest when the entry 2012 it's all SWEDEN!!!
4. They gave Sweden 0 points 2012. And to be honest I was expecting that from Italy with their bad taste.

No for me Italy can stay out from the contest.

Swedish entries from this year and 2011 were very bad, and I'm glad that the good Italian and Azerbaijani songs kicked that Swedish entry's ass.

1: All consider Italy 2011 to be a quality entry?? You hear what you want to hear. Many people think Sweden was better. Many people think that Italy did well only because the juries(EBU?) wanted Italy to say in the competition.


2: because the others unlike Italy didn't jump in the big 5 after being abscent in over 10 years. But yes I hate this big 5 thing no matter which country we are talking about.

3. No, I didn't like Italy 2012 because it's swedish. I think it's just pathetic a big 5 country take help from an another country.

I 'm so happy that SWEDEN kicked Italy's and Azerbaijans asses 2012. They don't deserve to win with SWEDISH entries.

You gotta be kidding me, Sweden is one of my favorite ESC countries, but I hated Loreen and Eric, those were horrible. Swedish quality entries ended with Carola in 2006.

Maybe "Running Scared" was produced by a Swede, but the singers were from Azerbaijan.

Sweden has very rich ESC history, they had masterpieces like 1995, 1996, 1998, and other good songs like 1989, 1993. Don't forget about Abba, too.
Loreen and her song were horrible, and I don't care that they won, I still dislike the entry.

But oh well, Azerbaijan was the winning country. The singers were from Azerbaijan, and the Swedish people agreed to sell it to them. In comparison, Vanilla Ninja's top 10 place in 2005 was a Swiss success, and NOT Estonian.
