I don't get what do everyone see in the show. Sure it was kinda good, but not brilliant or something amazingly new. But for some reason peoplea re really excited about this

Well, what's your favourite then? :?
I guess it's just a really good song, not everyone can agree in Eurovision. No one's saying it's new, but it is unique I think. All Romanian song. Love the melody, stage presentation, her voice, everything!

I wasn't even talking about the song itself, just the staging of it. If i would have to point out the best staging in semi 1, it would be Montenegro. Slovenia, Ukraine, Ireland and Denmark also worked quite ok.

This was performance of the night. It grew on me and won my family's vote. It will end in top 5 for sure. :D

I cannot stop myself from watching the performance. Quite possibly the best thing i've laid eyes uponxheat

I felt kind of weird before, questioning myself as to why I found something special in the song and what that special thing exactly was. Seeing the performance last night though, everything just clicked. It was brilliant and I felt the same feelings I did watching the original national final performance of the song but times it by 10. The hint of melancholy, the ambient synths at start and end of the song together with the story the dress created. It gives me chills. The final version of the song as well has taken it even further. The climax of the song is superb.

Just brilliant!! I want this to win!!!!!

For me it's Aliona's personality and hairstyle (yes!); the music which I think is great and the rarity of the Romanian language at the ESC, at least in a power-ballad.

I had listened to very few songs this year, but for me, this song really stood out last night, great composition, great interpretation....

Probably the best Moldovan entry ever! And they didn't forget the "Epic part" often associated to Moldovan's performances. This year the "growing effect", the dress and the hairstyle provided us that epic moment!

Nothing beats "Hora din Moldova", but this is probably my #2 or #3 Moldovan entry to date.

Moldova has turned into a rather strong ESC country!

In past years there is no song from Moldova that I don't like! ;D
Hora Din Moldova is awesome, Epic Sax Guy is epic, I love So Lucky, Last year was very fun and now Aliona... great streak for Moldova and I'd like to add that it's their 5th qualification in a row (!). Since 2009 I like everything + Boonika Bate Doba.

A hilarious nugget of information. British newspaper The Mirror has given Moldova along with San Marino a score of 1/10 in their rankings of this years songs. So according to them, the two worst songs of the contest. Sorry just had to have a laugh at their expensexrofl

What did they like then? Russia?

Oh and the British media will have an anti-ESC field day when the dated boring song by Bonnie flops... again they will blame the Eastern Europe, totally overlooking the fact that for instance no ex-Yugo country made it to the final and that no "Eastern" sounds are to be heard... perhaps only Moldova's entry has that eastern ballad sound to it.

The most hilarious thing is how Moldova is actually topping the reader voting on the news site of the paperxrofl2

Oh well, I came to the conclusion long ago that mainstream media in most countries sucks and we have no real journalists left...

Well, I barely read mainstream media any longer... for news I use alternative/underground sources and for music I tend to check real music publications or music forums like these...

The so called "music journalists" from the mainstream media are no better than the rest they provide for us, and I'd rather hear "regular" peoples' opinions than some "expert" since in the end of the day no one is an expert on this field, it's just subjective, and when it comes to ESC it all seems politically flavored so seems to have very little to do with the music anyhow.

However I loved how in 2009 that the trashy Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet's music reviewer were in love with Svetlana Loboda! That was a once in a lifetime thing where I totally agreed with that magazine haha.
