MF has the size of a Song Contest, but since it is on your own expense, you are free to make it as big as you wish.

It's not about Sweden, but about Europe! We must not discourage smaller countries from hosting the ESC anymore like in previous years and this time. Yes, it's awkward, because Sweden wanted it huge, and now gets a small contest to present. But it's still a good thing, now make the best out of it. I see a statement there, that EBU doesn't want Sweden to be seen as Eurovision capital with the biggest event ever.

If the smaller countries wants to host the ESC then they can resize it. This isnot about Sweden to be a Eurovision capital with the biggest ESC ever.

THE TICKETS WILL BE NOT BE ENOUGH TO THEY WHO WANT TO WATCH IT LIVE!!! Malmö Arena is too small to host ESC in Sweden. How will people get tickets?

Even with 10.000 to 12.000 we have a reasonable size. Even Kyiv and Riga looked huge to me. And Istanbul must have had 100.000 people in the arena.

You don't get it right?? MF/ESC are huge in Sweden. Many Swedes want to watch it live. How will they be able to do that with that small arena?

But as I said before, you're only looking at it from a personal point of view. You're watching it on TV so it doesn't affect you. Those who planned on watching the show live will have to cancel their vacation plans.

Why? In Kyiv were only 6,000 spectators. You are implying that thousands of hardcore fans have to stay at home now. I just don't think that is true. Each OGAE fan will definitely be part of the audience as always and certainly much more.

btw. for vacation plans, nobody I know has already vacation plans for next year. You are not getting robbed here.

Dusseldorf has wrong numbers here. Their arena had 24000 seats to the semifinals and 35000 seats to the final. That is what Friends arena wanted too, 35000. Instead they choose the small Malmö arena, which will not have more that 10000 seats.

And what about the common Swede?? Many Swedes are so disappoinbted because they wanted to go with their children, friends which is impossible.

Like the contests from 2003 to 2007 were also held in this category. So what's wrong?

There is no privilege for Sweden to make it as big as possible, just because Sweden has the best Eurovision fans in the world.

If EBU wants Eurovision in a reasonable size again - this is what I firmly believe - they cannot grant Sweden special treatment.

There are many countries who do not even have halls that size like Malmö Arena!

Well, maybe STV doesn't want more people to attend. And maybe it's the Swedish people that are obsessed with Eurovision, and not the national broadcaster?
Anyway, the reason why STV did that was probably money, they wanted to do it cheaper.

it IS the national broadcaster, because they do Melodifestivalen in Friends Arena.

THE TICKETS WILL NOT BE ENOUGH!! The Globen is too small for the Swedes. Much more Swedes wants tickets than there are seats in the Globen. The moved to Friends arena to get more seats. But now Malmö arena will be enough för BOTH Swedes and international fans? So you mean Swedes aren't allowed to watch our ESC live because smaller countries should host it?? YOU MUST JOKING??

Also I hope it's the last Swedish winning in the next 30 years. They really disappointed me,I wasn't expected that exactly from them. ESC goes from something spectacular to something ordinary. I hope the next winning country will be some that never won before,so we'd be in their capital city.

Nike, I think you need to cool down. If you are so much against Malmo arena, as well as many many other Swedes, why don't you all channel your strength to make official statements to SVT or EBU? Sign petitions, voice your concern about ordinary Swedes not having the possibility to attend the contest and back it up with numbers. You gotta fight for your right to party! © ;)

Believe me, I and many many other Swedes already protest against SVT with petitions and groups on Facebook. Look at Facebook and the many "we don't want ESC 2013 in Malmö" or "we want ESC 2013 in Stockholm".

But so far SVT don't lsten to us.

Well, then I don't know what to advise you, maybe just directly contact SVT and EBU, not through Facebook?

The main reason I wanted to see esc 2013 is because swedes are esc-maniac, and I wanted to be part of that.

And what you say that between 2003 and 2007 we had similar arenas. True, but now we are 2012 and everybody hypes esc 2013 because it's in Sweden.

I really can understand that Friends Arena is not available, but I can't think you don't have an arena in Stockhholm, Gothenborg or somewhere else in Sweden that can hold 20000-25000 people and would be suitable for ESC.

ESC is more than ESC alone, the city is important also:(

but i just find this a missed opportunity

I still want to go, but when I'm not able to get a ticket, I'll be very disappointed.

3500 Sek is like £322...

I COULD afford it, but I'd definitely resent having to, top end tickets in Baku were about £195! Plus, they'll sell out like hotcakes (I remember trying to buy tickets for 2011, only to be sorely disappointed).

One year I'll see it live!

The price for the tickets are just rumors floating around the Internet, correct?

Or did they actually say it's going to be that pricy?

I know... The things is I might afford the ticket but since I don't know anyone in Malmö I'd have to find a hotel at a reasonable prize.

So because it will be in Malmö, I wont watch it live. But I'll hopefully be in Stockholm at some amazing ESC-party! :)
