You guys are talking about all the hotel rooms booked... is it even possible to book a room a year early?

Erhm, that's a bit narrow-minded. Whether you like it or not Malmø is a part of Sweden and it should be in their interest to show the best side of Sweden too. This kind of regional tension doesn't really seem like a way to showcase Sweden for Europe.

Besides, Sweden is more than just Stockholm and I think it's only fair that another city than the capital gets a chance. Choosing the host city doesn't have to be either or, it can just as well be a win for everyone. Stockholm hosted in 2000 - and let's face it - probably will again in a not too distant future. Stockholm will get their turn again, no doubt about it.

Malmö often host MF heats, they hosted ESC 1992(a very bad one) and Handball world championships 20011. They also co hosted Euro 1992.

So how much of Stockholm and Sweden will Europe see?? Or will it be only from Öresund region??
So many people complain about Stockholm hosts everything then why should we help them to host?? You said it's good another city gets the chance than the capital city... Let me ask you which city in Sweden do you think Malmö will ask first for help? Luleå, Växjö, Gothenburg, Uppsala... no it's probably the capital city Stockholm. Why?

On facebook they are saying that the tickets cost 3500 SEK!!! They must fucking joking??? How should families go and watch it live when the tickets are that expensive? Where is the family event Hamilton is talking about?? I feel they need more expensive tickets to fill the lost in seats... :(

I'm probably gonna have to think twice about my decision to go next year just on the basis that it will probably be hard for me to get a ticket. I'll still give it a try.

What gives about the crime rate in Malmö? there's not even an international travel restrictions there. So, I bet it's NOT "I'm gonna get shot in the face dangerous" in Malmö.

That's just insane! Is that the normal price range for Eurovision tickets? I've never been to an ESC live show, so I wouldn't know. If it's more expensive than usual, it'd be a shame if it ended up being like the ice hockey flop where practically nobody came to watch because of the insane costs.

 Shut up

I bought tickets in Duesseldorf for the best category and paid less than 200 Euro.

About 450 to be more precise but if that's the price then there's no way I'm going, that's like my monthly rent

200 Euros would be more reasonable. I hope the 3500 SEK price is not the official price they stick to.

here was the price scheme from Baku this year

The tickets for the Dress Rehearsalswere cheaper than for the Live Shows of the Semi-Finals and the Final - from approximately EUR 7 up to EUR 40. The cost of the tickets for the Semi-Finals (12th and 14th of May) was from EUR 18 up to EUR 445. The cost of the tickets for the Final (16th of May) was from EUR 22 to EUR 667. Approximately 20,000 people had a chance to attend each show.

I don't know about you guys but my priority it's Melodifestivalen right now... (one semi in Linköping and of course the final). If I manage to get a job and start saving money I will probably go to the ESC but what are the chances of getting a ticket when all the tickets will be no more than 15.000 and the eurofans will be millions?
So disappointed!

I don't think I will watch the ESC 2013 at all, not even on tv. MF is my priority now. I have lost all my excitement to 2013. For me Loreen's win is waste of time. Russia could won instead. They would made a better ESC than Sweden will do. I'm disappointed and I will NEVER support Malmö as host city. Sadly I hope Malmö 2013 will be the worst ESC ever! :(

It's not Malmö we should blame. It's pretty obvious the politicians in Stockholm and Solna wasn't careful enough to get the engagement. Whatever they did or didn't do, it was the wrong move. They had all the advantage and nobody did even consider Malmö as a serious alternative. So, well played Malmö, you succeeded against all odds!
