Re: Live from Vienna - EUROVISION 2015 TONIGHT

Countries knew, but do you think televtorers knew the voting system too?
Don't missunderstood my post either, Sweden is a clear winner, but as I see things it is really unfair to televoters, that even if they vote million times for one specific country, it will get 0 points. I know it can't be announced before televoting "don't vote for Italy, because your jury memeber already ranked them so they can get maximum of 0 points", but anyway this is some kind of robbing televoters too.

That is, at least to a certain extent, true - of course it's not the nicest thing on earth that the actual televoting winner didn't make it but that's the problem with this very extreme voting-system. I agree that some changes need to be made but I don't see the sense in endless discussions and the hating towards certain countries/artists now!

Re: Live from Vienna - EUROVISION 2015 TONIGHT

I can't believe people think Germany should withdraw for one bad result!!!!!! I think the result were very unfair for them. The same for Spain and France. I liked their entries.

But Germany won 2010. They also finished in top 10 in both 2011 and 2012. That's good results. Yes the latest 3 years have been bad for Germany. But remember Sweden's bad results in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009 and in 2010 we even missed the final. Not fun for us. Should we have withdrawn?? No because we shouldn't get the good results the years after. My point is that ESC going up and down for all countries. Look Denmark missed final after years with very good results.

Spain not as great results as Germany but still two top 10 placements in 2012 and 2014. That's decent I think. In the Sweden's bad year I would want Spain 's top 10 places.

I understand France though. But it would be sad if they withdraw. I think this years french song was was very nice but maybe they need to rethinking. I think it's good when countries use own languages. But maybe France should try english one year and see what's happen? With good result they can then go back to try french.

I think no country should withdraw because of bad results. If so no country would participate in the end.

NDR has already confirmed our participation for next year

Still no one is forced to vote.

Also I think most people know about the juries. Actually juries as been used in the most part in ESC history. It's nothing new at all. IMO for me juries is the real and orginal way to vote.

The same is for juries. They vote for the faves and then diaspora/neighbour voting will destroy it.

Ah those juries .......

Sweden got lucky with the juries .... in a way!

Cause the same happened back on 2012 when Loreen swallowed some of the snow effect

and never fully recovered during the "Jury final"
.

Ps:Not the best 1st post in a forum but I just couldn't stop myself! :D

Artificial win + Stolen song + Plastic singer = Sweden

don't forget stolen stage performance ;)

If people actually think it was all fair to everybody then I think there is some serious denial from some people here  If the so called "draw" didn't open their eyes then nothing will.

ESC continues to get worse and worse but since the rigging always favors them then who cares. They can live in fanboy paradise for all I care but at some point even they will have to admit it.

Disagree.

This year's contest had descent entries.
If the result seems "estimated" to someone's eyes, this consists no reason for downgrading the whole "product".

Re: Live from Vienna - EUROVISION 2015 TONIGHT

Just checked my "predictions". Im quite happy with a approximate difference of 4.3 places :D
Completely overrated Germany, Austria and Cyprus, and underestimated Serbia, Armenia and Lithuania :(

All in all, I think this year was quite a strong year with the songs. In my family, they normally do not like Eurovision that much. But today, everyone is listening to the songs from yesterday all the time :D (especially Israel, Norway, Slovenia, Belgium and Cyprus) :D

How can anyone say anything bad about this guy like he is arrogant? His winning reaction is way better than Loreen's 2012.

SuperGirl, calm down, now you have your period?
Is more it influenced the vote of 200 people or the entire European people?

You decide, for as he won the sweden doubts remain!

I may not agree with SuperGirl's arguments or attitude or... anything for that matter, but a period joke? Really? Attacking her on the grounds of her sex is anything but fair.

Re: Live from Vienna - EUROVISION 2015 TONIGHT

The voting part was soo boring. It was so unpleasant when you know that top 3 points most go to the actual and the same top 3. In most of the time 1-7 points were more interesting that the top 3. I wish there be ( only for this year) the opposite of announcing the votes. The top 3 to be posted directly and points from 1-7 by the speakpersons.
Yes, voting was extremely boring. Weird because other years it never felt that way.

And by the way whi is it so wrong to vote a song beacause it represents your native country but it's totally ok to vote for a song just beacause the singer is cute?
Who says it's ok to vote for a singer because he's cute? It's completely wrong. Just like it's wrong to vote for your neighboring country. The quality of a song/act is all that matters. And wasn't that the reason the juries were introduced? Because they should focus on the quality of the song rather then a nice gimmick on stage for example.

But we should accept that people will always vote for their home country or neighboring country. But like discussed before: you don't win if you're not good so those votes don't really matter and probably won't make a big difference in the end.

Something must be done with the voting system. If ( for example )Itali gave 12 points in televote and those 5 "experts" ranks Albania at the bottom giving no points to Albania its not 50-50 then. In that case Albania should have get 6 points. 12 + 0 = 0 with this system which is unfair. IM complaining the system.

True. The quality this year was ok for me. Lots of songs I really enjoyed and unlike other years not many songs that were complete rubbish.

I personally thought his reaction was a little bit over the top. We at home were like "ok, don't act like you didn't see this coming". But hey, that's just because I'm a rather calm person myself and not the type that goes jumping on the tables. So don't get me wrong: I understand he's happy and he can celebrate any way he wants.

Re: Live from Vienna - EUROVISION 2015 TONIGHT

A couple of things i noticed today. I'm guessing that this info has already been posted but just on the off chance it hasn't. This years contest was the first where the host country has received 0 points.
The 2nd piece i've found pretty interesting as i really liked the Austrian entry this year and for it to receive 0 points i was surprised, but even more so today when looking at the current Top 100 tracks dowmloaded on i-tunes at the moment to find it at No. 94 along with only 6 other Eurovision entries

It's quite funny that Sweden completely blows Italy out of water in the charts. Sweden tops itunes in 20 different countries. Italy only one.

Where are all the voters that voted for Italy?
