Lithuania LITHUANIA 2015 - Vaidas & Monika - This Time

The only way this song could have worked out is as a duet, so I don't understand why some of you are saying that Vaidas should be going alone The kiss gimmick alone will be netting a lot of votes for Lithuania.

Vaidas might have a slight technical advantage in terms of having a more powerful voice than Monika but I think this will be worked on and he'll be asked to tone it down a bit as the tonal disparity could hurt the performance. It's clear they didn't come into the selection process as a duet but I agree with whoever came up with this decision of joining them up. With some work this could turn out to be one of the most memorable performances this year.
I really liked it when they performed "Tiktai tu" (actually liked it better than "This Time" but I know that it wasn't ESC-material) and I believe that if they sound as harmonious as they did in that song + the enhaced staging to come then they shouldn't have any troubles reaching the final.

THE GOOD

-The singers are decent enough to carry what is provided to them by the instrumentals.
-The song has a tinge of the Mumford & Sons folk sound thrown in there, which spices things up and makes this song a bit memorable.

THE BAD

-I could've done without the awkward pause in the middle of the song for a kiss. I would've shortened it to just a 4-count for the kiss and then kept the song going, but that is just me. I'm sure that come May, they'll fix this, so it's not that big a deal.
-The song does get boring in parts, but especially at the beginning.

THE VERDICT

The reason that I don't think the song will win is because it's a little boring. Add Lithuania's weird (to me) selection process into the mix and you have a country that (unless the process changes) will never win a contest. 6 points
