I watched this wonderful, rather surreal film called "Death Bed: The Bed That Eats", made in 1977. It was the director George Barry's only film, and in fact it wasn't even released officially back in the day. Only recently has it gained cult status.
It's about a demon possessed bed that eats everyone and thing that comes into contact with it. The story is deeper than it sounds actually and i'd like to watch it again to tie pieces together. The film is wondrously campy with various unintentional laugh out loud moments. It was obviously made on a very low budget, but it just adds to it's charm. There's a super posh man (one of the bed's victims) who's now trapped behind a painting, and he essentially narrates what's going on the entire way through the movie. The three main girls are great too. The dialogue is a highlight. I recommend this to anyone who's a fan of B movies and unusual concepts. It's surprisingly well shot as well. Some beautiful scenes. There's certainly nothing else like it.
I was so mesmerized by my first watch of it that I decided to make my first ever fan music video, using clips from the film. I matched it with my favourite Ariel Pink song from his latest album. Took so long to make
