#163 Austria

Well they finally exited Malta and Switzerland but they now arrive in Estonia and Austria xcheer

So far I believe they have made appearances in Spain, Greece, Malta, Switzerland and Slovenia xcheers Bulgaria too but their not competing

Are we still comparing this to France 2011 xqueenbitch

Il Volo appeared in a quite significant amount of countries right after Sanremo.

Not wanting to dance anymore, but I must dance
I don't know why people keep insinuating Il Volo will flop like France 2011 when the reason Amaury got so little points was because of a weak vocal performance.

I also think there is a big difference in the song.
France 2011 was way more opera than this is.
And also they proved they can sing live

I hope you'll do well!

The Sydney Morning Herald did an article a few days ago about the competition for Guy Sebastian and their description of the guys is pretty funny

Italy are represented by a polished pop-opera trio, Il Volo (The Flight), featuring nerdy tenor Piero Barone, smiley tenor Ignazio Boschetto and devilish baritone Gianluca Ginoble. They won the right to compete after winning the Sanremo Song Contest, which doubled as Italy's Eurovision qualifier. Il Volo would make opera purists wince, but their dashing looks, powerful vocals and melodramatic performances are about perfect for Eurovision. Is it too late for Guy Sebastian to be cloned?

I really hope the jury doesn't get fooled by the stage show on "Heroes" and realize that the song is lacking in comparison to others...

This is exactly why I don't see Sweden as a contender for the victory. Because, if you just listen to the song, without watching the stage show, you realise it's not really that strong.

Sweden will end up with 0 points (.......if we can keep the girls away from the televoting!).

Anyways...

This is typical Italy. Bombastic ballads on native language, minimalistic with gentlemen in suits. That's the game you should play, that's the game you know best. Congratulations, Italy, you can get far on this years ESC, but please, try to charm the girls in the process. Otherwise you gonna lose to that smirky weasel in the grey sweater. Don't disappoint me now, kayy?

But the jury and everyone will see the show...their not just going to listen to the song alone xshrug

Its like Ukraine's sand lady on a much bigger level...this one might actually pull off the win because of it xscared

Sweden doesn't worry me at all for Italy. We all knew before that Eurofans would sniff Zelmerlöw's lap and long to take a seat in there, but that's not enough for the Grand final.

They will see the show but even the best show needs a strong song to win. Ukraine's sand lady..sure..helped...but it didn't make the song win ;)

That should be easy part of their performance when you got Gianluca on your team ;)

Won't be too hard, that comes easy enough to them, plus they're polyglots, so they'll charm the girls in Italian, Spanish, and English! xheart
