Please GermanBango, don't start you too. If you scroll back to the very start of Supergirl appearing you'll see that the discussion is degenerated because the incessant and absurd desire to convince others to think like she do. Patience doesn't last forever.
We were wondering why a song who won the televote doesn't win ESC, and if this ever happend before.

And who is saying to me that Swedish fans weren't crazy about Heros and voted for it but they were just fewer.

Really there is no limit to how many times you can televotei in your countries? In Italy in last. Sanremo the rule was no more than 5 votes with each telephone number. If one tried to vote more was impossible. So some people voted with home telephone and mobile, but always no more than five votes with each telephone number.

As I said, I know how she can be - But you should prove that you're smarter.
And yes it technically happened before.

For the ESC songs too, from Italy max 5 times (Ufficio stampa RAI2).

Yes, but there is always a limit.

I'm curious, when happened before, can you please tell us?

Stay strong (:
In 2011 Sweden technically won the televote (if we do not count in the Jury of San Marino) but things like that happen in a year with tight competition.

Thank you. Ok, but "officially" Azerbaijan in 2011 won televote.

Well at least in Greece they said that we can vote 20 times. No 20 times one song and 20 another etc but 20 times at all. I suppose and in the rest of the Europe is like that

It doesn't matter what song was better or worse. That's subjective. What matters is that, for the first time, the will of people got ignored. Yes, it's happened before but never for the winner and never when the margin was so big. I'm pretty sure that if Sweden had won televoting in 2011, even for 1 point, all hell would have broken loose...lol

Congrats Italy on your top 3 placing!!! When the top 3 emerged during the voting, I was rooting for Italy to take home the eurovision crown over Russia and Sweden, too bad it didn't happen. Il Volo was amazing during the show and the reaction they got from the crowd was out of this world. They would have been wonderful Eurovision champions!

It doesn't mean more people voted for it. They can vote 20 times for a entry. What about if the italian fans were fanatic and voted crazy for it?

Impossible. We can't vote for our own country. And we're not that rich to fly all around europe to buy simcards to vote Il Volo. Try again my lovely kid.

Excuse me?????? Heroes was released 28 February. Not as big differencecas you think it is.

Hmm, Heroes was released at about the same period as Grande Amore. If you're so damn keen to the Charts performance, look at the certifications: 2 platinum for Il Volo, nothing yet over there for Mans. Deal with it.

And let's talk about sellings in some months, not the instant-sales 2 days after the final.

The point is that, I think, people are mad just because 200 jurors' opinion hang over 200 millions people's. That's all.

Anyway, Sweden is the winner. Nobody can deny or change anything, we're just talking.

Indeed, there wasn't such a fuss in 2011 when Italy won the jury votes but Aerbaijan the televoting, overall Azerbaijan was the winner so it was perfectly OK as it was a people's winner. This year the general feeling is that Sweden's victory is not legitimated by the majority.

Now that everything is over, I have something to add. Since I came here I had always read again and again the argument "pop opera has never done good at Eurovision" and "they will fail as Amaury with Sognu". It was tiring explain that operatic pop is successful in the world so why not in Europe, and that Il Volo were experienced singers that were set to win and not certainly to fail.
I am happy I was proven right: even with an horrible position in the running order that everyone was saying was death zone, they managed to be the first in televoting and the third adding jury vote.
So, write this in the record history of the Eurovision Song Contest: operatic pop does good at the Eurovision Song Contest and Il Volo in the finale delivered a flawless performance.
Thank you Il Volo, for setting this record, thank you Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca for bringing high the name of Italy in this competition.
