One of the problems with the jury is it's based around reputation and hype and not much else. Pretty pointless, and it adds jury bribery scandals too.

Yeah the hype around The Netherlands was real last year before the 1st semi-final, that's exactly the reason why the juries gave them the 1st place...

This is all very similar to 2011's Amaury Vassili ("Sognu"), he was leading the betting odds and got 2nd place at the OGAE voting. In the ESC final he ended up at rank 15. This would also be a very respectable result for Il Volo. Such an old-fashioned, conservative piece of "art" against all those modern, catchy 21st-century songs, that's not an easy task, so around 15th place would be OK.

Except Il Volo isn't leading the betting, their 2nd, and they did win OGAE not place 2nd. So its backwards  Not to mention I doubt Amuary was doing as well as Il Volo have been doing on iTunes so far so.... xshrug

Even if they don't win I still don't think it will flop

We come back always at the same point: Amaury Vassili's performance was AWFUL and ATROCIOUS. That's why he ended up at 15th position.

And his song was a sort of modern bolero, completely another kind of song and another style.

Actually it would be Turin 2016 ;)

According to escxtra.com that's what the Italian delegation has said. I think they said the same in 2013 as well

likely
In Italy we haven't big arena for music/sport ...
Turin have PalaIsozaki (sponsor name PalaAlpitour)built for the 2006 Olympics game and can have 14.350 people (18.500 for concerts but I have no idea what kind of stage)
Milan have Forum D'assago (sponsor name Mediolanum Forum) built in 1990 and can have 13.200 people (basketball capacity)
Rome have Palazzo dello Sport (sponsor name PalaLottomatica) built for the 1960 Olympics game and can have 12.200 people (volleyball capacity)

Can we change the Amaury's argument? I'm really tired of it.

This should be the dress of Gianluca for the Eurovision performance:

+1

Except, France was my favourite in 2011 and I knew it wouldn't win but I don't like Grande amore at all. They're both songs that don't suit for all kind of ESC audience, just some. With a song like this, you can finish in top 5 with the juries but can't win.
