i do not mind at all that people (including myself) are salty about entries because in eurovision, there is nothing you can do about it. yeah, you hate toy. what are you gonna do? scatter your 20 votes among everyone else? that's nothing. it takes 20 haters to cancel 1 fan. in the words of fellow Gay With Terrible Taste ryan dolan, in the end only love survives.

ES2011 I don't think you're salty but I have to say that I don't like the picture you just posted. I worked with people that are "unique" or let's say different and they actually suffers cause they try to be all those boring forks. *sad moment incoming* Sometimes they put an end to their lives because they weren't as good as society was expecting from them and they couldn't live that life. The fork is of course not useful but only if you want to use it as a fork, we can try to make it useful or find a way to have its place somewhere.
I don't think that's what you meant (at least I hope so) but I couldn't see anything else than what I experienced with "real" unique people.

Of course I fully agree with you, it was more of a silly meme to express my opinion on the song. I strongly believe that every person has value in their own unique way and has a right to feel valued. Im all for celebrating diversity, yet I do nog agree with he mentality towards pandering it, where the weirdest, most flamboyant or extravagant person is treated as if he\she can turn water into wine. Indeed, being different does not make you any less than anybody else, but, being different also does not automatically give you more merit. This, was the point I was trying to make. I didnt mean to offend anybody and if I did, I appogize.

I'm gonna tell you what I like in this song in the most sincere way ( RainyWoods if you're interested) : I tend to think that people are getting more and more serious and specially in Eurovision, the contest is trying to build itself a 'decent' reputation. We have -since a few years- a lot of songs that are not bold or trying something new when ESC was always a place to experiment and to have fun. What made ESC so cool is that it was the only day in the year when you could listen to wacky stuff that Radios won't dare to play. As it was only an evening, people were wearing fabulous stuff cause hey it's just for tonight you know and ESC wasn't supposed to convince anybody, it's already an old lady that has nothing to prove to anyone. Still those few years ESC is like a teenager that is trying to be cool (in a decent way) and being ridiculous began to be its biggest fear.

Toy is - for me - the essence of "my" eurovision, for what I like Eurovision. The most genius part in it are the chicken sounds. It's surely not the taste of everybody, we all love ESC for different reasons obviously and that doesn't mean you don't get the spirit of ESC ofc. I pictured it.. like you know it's a birthday party with "cool music" but nobody is dancing, you get tired cause you feel you heard the same song for about 2hours then we get a lil' tipsy, somebody is playing Wannabe from the Spice Girls and NOW people genuinely have fun. That how I feel with Toy.

We share a similar view on ESC, and like you I'm afraid it turned too safe (hello juries!), it's not the party and great evening it once was. I remember in particular last year when I tried to have a ESC home party but people almost fell asleep during the show  ESC lost alot of its character, a win for Israel could restore some of it.

What if we saw a Poland 2016 moment but even more powerful? This being last in the jury vote but then winning in the televote by such a margin that it could still win? It would be more than epic! :D

And will absolutely not happen. There is no possible way a song that comes last in the jury could ever end up winning. The numbers just wouldn't work

This song sounds completely silly

If esc is a television party for people then this can win !

Although I think the jury will evaluate the song with average ratings
and less (in most cases). In that case, the song will pass like the Italian last year.

My favorite for this year are BONES, completely ! xthank

This one left me rather indifferent xshrug

Don’t appreciate the lyrics but the tune is nice. Overall so-so.
Live performace is a VERY big question mark here. Songs like these are hard to pull off live.

Anyways, I’ll give it a 7.

Well this is the most difficult song to judge this year!!!Let's try...
Initially i can listen vibes of a mix from Golden Boy and Feel alive....
Also i am laughing with those who see it as a winner.. ..It will be last in the jury ranking so it will qualify in the final as a borderline thanks to the televote but in the final it's for the right side.....
I use spoiler to avoid long post...
The first 30 seconds of the official video are

And let's go to the chorus

After all these the maximum you can get from me is a 5 and i am really sad for my points because it may be a lower for me...It could be a 12 but probably you don't want to host Eurovision....
So sad and so angry for you :il:!! :(

Why? If the ranking of the jury and the televote differs a lot it's possible. And it all depends on the distribution of the points. For example, imagine that somehow the first three songs of the jury were really low with the televote, the jury's last place could perfectly surpass them depending on the number of points. No? :?

I mean the maximum televote is 504 points (and there is not a single chance that any song in Eurovision will ever attain that). So if Israel was last in the jury with just a couple of points, they'd need to hope that nobody achieved >500 points (or 400 because there is no way a country is ever going to get more than 400 points from the televote). Mathematically I suppose it's possibly but in a real life situation, I would bet everything I owned against it ever happening. The juries and public are always going to agree on one or two songs.

Israel is really being hyped to an unimaginable degree. Even if it did win the televote (which I highly doubt), I don't at all believe it would get more points than Salvador or Il Volo.

I think the chorus is weaker, it has serious annoyance potential.
