@Mrm how can i interpret your reaction?
😡 would u say the irish national final does any of the contestants any favors either visually or soundwise?
I can't help but love my beautiful, cosy Late late show preselection... It is like a tradition.. It is a MUST for me.. 🥹😌

Wow. What's the point of asking foreigners to take part in your NF if the song is utterly shit?!

According to people who were on the panel EMMY from Norway who competed in MGP 2021 is in the selection, a very weird selection but interesting nonetheless.
Yep Emmy is in.

In 2024, Larissa attended the RENA Songwriting Camp in Norway, where her song was shortlisted by the Norwegian Eurovision Committee (MGP). Another collaboration with Norwegian pop sensation Emmy has successfully made it to the Irish National Eurovision Final—a testament to Larissa’s growing influence in the world of competitive songwriting.

Ok get it, but then i hope they improve the Sound quality and setting, every artist sounds and looks bad there and its not their fault

I also enjoy Malta or San Marino ... not because they are good, simply because of the weirdness.

hm we're different there i guess, i actually feel sorry for the artists if the production is so bad (in ireland the sound mix is especially cruel), they cannot showcase their potential at all
it looks like they perform in my aunties living room which automatically makes everything look unprofessional

The first song was just played on RTE Radio 1 and it's Bobbi Arlo with Powerplay:

I think it's really catchy and has a cool vibe. It's a great start for our NF.

Edit: Changed the video to the official audio

Tumblr, mostly.
Well, we don't know how good the live performance will be, but yes Powerplay is like... better than most songs in other selections, including some of the favourites.

I'm curious to see if the rest of Eurosong IE holds up.

Listened to the whole thing. Gosh Ray D'Arcy is such a brutal interviewer.

The first thing that struck was Bobbi's accent. Incredibly Dublin but other articles she's from Wicklow like Ailsha. Is that a good sign? Seems confident speaking to Ray and has a clear vision how this will be staged. Brought up the phrase Irish hooligans as a clue for the staging.

Powerplay is overall a nice start to the Eurosong selection. It does feel a bit demo-ey and rough around the edges right now but that can fixed. This hyper pop entry would continue the alternative route from last year.

Oh this SLAPS. It's incredibly raw-sounding and delicious.

I can't stand the chorus , dumb pop vibes (she literally sings "I go stupid") ruined the song for me. I like everything else tho hred

That's a bold pop track.
I didn't see this coming but Ireland seems to be serving this year... hopefully the quality of Eurosong won't be dragged to the mud when the other songs get released.

8/10 for now.
