According to people who were on the panel EMMY from Norway who competed in MGP 2021 is in the selection, a very weird selection but interesting nonetheless.

Judging by the Irish desperation last year, it wouldn't surprise me if they started to pick singers from abroad.

Which is depressing but yeah I would agree. There is a belief within some ay RTE that the Nordics do Eurovision better than anyone else so might as well use their songwriters. I'm still waiting for news if Lyra is possibly in.

what? does she have any irish ties?
Not that I'm aware of. It better be good because if we wasted a spot in the NF on filler with 0 connection to Ireland there will be alot of unhappy fans.

I know, but it showed that they are willing to do many things to acheive a good result.

I think it's sad that the various nations are focusing more and more on qualifying for the Grand Final instead of regarding the NF and Eurovision as equally important events.

People are saying that there's someone unexpected coming, someone who will show the generational gap of eurofans or sth. along those lines, apparently someone big and random.

According to Eurovoix, there's on artist who got invited by the broadcaster. They didn't have to audition... that's interesting.

Hopefully, Bambie's success let the song quality increase this year.

Eirevision are gonna want to keep Michael Kealy on side so they can continue access, I really wouldn't take the reactions as a reflection on the quality. Love lou and Connor though

I feel like the BBC did this before (got reactions of diehard fans to our entry before release/reveal) and they overreacted so dramatically the entry was extremely underwhelming lol

I also would like the answer to this as it would determine whether I buy 1 or 7 bottles of wine for the evening

No literally. I remember When they had Mans react one year and he was super hyping them shouting banger etc. To this day I still don't know which song was the 'banger'.

edit: Remember Funky Eldrine in 2015? I NEVER trust reactions anymore

Even a fake emotion says it all.
So it's basically 3 bad songs, 2 average. They were excited about 1 particular act, but I suspect it's something exceptionally random/trashy or a comeback.
