I think Molly definitely benefited from being in position 5, I wonder if her she had swapped positions with Erika who'd be the winner.

Well my second favourite won. It's the song i've listened to the most, but I really think Erika would have done much better for Ireland. If she was Irish, i'm sure she would have been the winner.
At least that awful Shoulder To Cry On didn't win!

She is very talented girl and it's so shame song is bland and forgettable. Chances for Irish final are very low.
Shoulder song was much better option.

I gave it 3 points

We have to admit that Molly has a really beautiful voice from a so young girl. It is a nice song and it can surely qualify if Ireland has not too many strong concurrents.

However, I am afraid by 2 things:
-the last minute being a let down comparing to the rest
-pleasantly surprising at first but becoming a tad boring after several listenings.

She's going to get swallowed by the stage, but as a stand-alone song, it's not bad. 7 points.

I really liked Phil Coulters input during this selection. They should consider getting his opinion if they make any changes.

The panel did seem to be very fair in their comments, nothing about political voting or ridiculous comments on how it is the greatest song ever and will win. Overall I thought it was pretty good panel and they knew what they were talking about.

Considering how close the top 2 were, Kat would have won in that case.

I think Kat would have trumped everyone, had she been given a better slot. She lost by such a tiny amount of points.

It also didn't help that she was never interviewed or got any mention after she performed. That aspect of the show was very swayed towards Erika and Nikki.

I spoke about doing well. You spoke about dignity. Quite different concepts ;)

But still put across in a very forceful way. When you declare one song as the only choice, it's extremely dismissive and even arrogant.

I mentioned dignity, because as with most countries, Ireland has a certain way they go about music, and Erika's song was taking an axe to that and turning Ireland into another Swedish dominated (not because of Erika, but the songwriting team and the song itself), bland Eurovision nation. With this song, they do something a little different while sticking to their musical culture and roots. I respect that.

Yup, I was annoyed about this and pointed it out earlier. However, I don't seem to remember our winner Molly having an interview too (she had the golden slot though). Although in her case, they did make quite a thing of her age. The viewers didn't find anything out about Kat. As soon as she sung, there was quite a gap between the next performance, with the quizzes and other silly stuff. The show had no structure to it. What was with asking the audience what they thought about Erika's performance for instance? It's annoying me thinking about it now as the voting was so close. Small things would have made all the difference.

Have to say I'm a bit surprised people are finding this song boring. I think it's a very interesting song to listen to and she has a likeable voice.

None of the other four performances really made me feel anything but when Molly was singing it just felt right to vote for her.

Oh well, I'm happy to go down in flames if it means Molly Sterling representing us.

I doubt the Shoulder song would have won the televote regardless of when it was performed... it got its position thanks to the juries which are unaffected by the running order.

It's not boring per se, but it's forgettable. I cant remember it at all now.

There is one thing we all agree on here is that The Late Late Show format is still a mess, and the studio sounding is still awful.

It's funny though

Not when the sounding badly affected Erika's song. But in general it still was generally enjoyable and not intensely boring, it just needs to be removed from The Late Late show and structured better. With it all in a much better studio.
