Ewww can't stand his voice... I have the same vibes with Spain, quite fine melody but a cringy singer and cheesy easy-tear lyrics... meh

I haven't like any of Germany's songs this much since 2012. I really like it!

12 points for now!

Not my fave as you know (glad that my boy Ryk reached the podium at least!) but this can give a decent result to Germany and I want to see my second country doing well at Eurovision, so viel Erfolg!

I give this 12 points, easily one of the best songs so far picked and he can get a top 10 place in the final.
I'm happy because I finally like the Germany entry since 2014 :D

You Let Me Walk Alone

Positives:

Ginger is a lovely hair colour. There are particular shades of ginger I really like. I recall the time I was a soap watcher and the secret crush I had on Sean Slater from Eastenders. His kind of dark "am I or aren't I" red was exactly the shade that I liked and he had a beautiful face. The added bonus was that he was the bad boy brother of the iconic Stacey Slater.

I wish my hair was curly. People often tell me they wish their hair was as straight as mine but I hate it. Natural curls have been something i've always desired. It's no fun having extremely fine long paper straight hair. Bouncy waves can be gorgeous.

Negatives:

Germany, this song is offensive. I'm often critical but it takes a lot to repel me so gosh darn far back that i'm currently dangling out my window as i'm typing this. For me this is an accumulation of everything that's wrong with talent shows, contemporary pop balladry and why formulating anything that's supposed to be remotely emotional is a bad idea. This is the song that plays during the judges houses stage of X Factor. This is the winning performance as the glitter falls. This is the "indie" artist on a major label who's tunes are chugged out for people to listen to on Radio 1, and then declare to their friends that they're into alternative music. It exists and I can't do anything about it apart from tell you that I don't like it and allow those of you that do to enjoy it. There are people out there who can't get through trashy pop, metal, rap, dance music.. you name it. We've all got our personal kryptonite. This just happens to be mine, and boy it does it's job well.

I've been really fair this year with my points so far. Plenty of songs I dislike but i've been handing out 2s and 3s. I absolutely loathe "You Let Me Walk Alone" though. Anything more than a 0 would be wrong here from me. I doubt there will be a song I dislike more at Eurovision 2018. "You Let Me Walk Alone" can sit besides the What If's, the I Can't Go On's and the This Time's in my special Eurovision hall of never to be heard again by my ears. The end.

P.S. Thank you for Xavier's legs tonight. I enjoyed them thoroughly.

Re: GERMANY 2018

I for one would love to see my favourite redhead participating one day xpray

He is still relatively unknown, although he deserves so much more attention, which he could easily gain through Eurovision. He doesn't need other people to write songs for him, as he's an amazing composer himself (imo), got a very pleasant voice - and is incredibly handsome, hrhr. He's probably not the type to stand out with crazy staging or unusual songs and goes more into the "radio-friendly" direction, but I'm pretty sure the whole package wouldn't be as dull as Levina's or unfitting as Jamie-Lee's xthink

Wow, who could have thought that you were right back then (26/05/17) xshock

I like it more than I should.

The production is average, but... I don't know, it just works for me. Maybe the lyrics are better thought than most Eurovision ballads, the last third is really heartwarming. I can imagine this doing well in a stage, being impressive for an audience, he sounds great, in paper sounds above average, but for some reason, it really stands out.

Germany has something with decent potential: a nice staging, and a top 10 wouldn't be out of the table.

8 points.
