The Austrian Ambassador in Berlin will send the German participant Ann Sophie with champagne and Manner on the journey to Vienna
"It was unbelievable." The prominent voice of Ann Sophie increased a little, only then she continues, and admits: "When I saw the stage in the Wiener Stadthalle, I had to cry." Not because of the venue for the ESC would be so awful, but because he had such a "fantastic aura". Thankfully, almost humble she was at the preview that she could sing there and that still 200 million people will watch live.
Fantastic it also runs at the Austrian Embassy in Berlin this Monday - and for countless photographers. Ambassador Nicholas Marschik invited to adopt the young woman gen Vienna Ann Sophie. The fireplace room, otherwise space for political discussions, has become a wardrobe for the artist. Ann Sophie, matching their song "Black Smoke", occurs entirely in black and get first of all strengthening. The Ambassador served apple strudel. "Super," says Ann Sophie, in Vienna she was pleased anyway so the cafes because this gorgeous coffee in Vienna, this melange, and she had yet anyway so a "Kaffeetante".

Then she poses in front of the large portrait of some Austrian Archduke, "Franz" they all call him at the embassy. The woman knows what is in demand, turns, smiles, again and again, again and again. "Ann Sophie, tear out your eyes!", Calling for the photographer. "Now shut up!" Even more amazing than the commands: Ann Sophie does everything and laughs even friendly. "I love what I do. This kind of hype could go on forever," she says.
Had it been up to the previous voters and Vote gutters of the German preliminary decision, there had never been this hype. Actually the musicians Andreas going was chosen for the ESC participation, Ann Sophie was clearly runner. But going was not exactly this stress, resigned unexpectedly and Ann Sophie took the opportunity of a lifetime.
"You can not win, because their song stands out", is convinced Cornelius Ballin of Universial Music. And Ann Sophie wants to win, of course. So cute the Austrians also are so great they can say already almost-Viennese "urleiwand" itself, the victory should go back to Germany in 2015. Just as in 1982, when Nicole "A little peace" sang, and 2010, when Lena "Satellite" was for the best.
Two young women like Ann Sophie, of course begs the question of the large footsteps. Ann Sophie course sees itself as a completely independent artist and not thinking about the two winners. "I will sing with heart, and I hope to reach the hearts of people," she says earnestly.
That she will sing her song to the actual event still felt a hundred times, it does not bother. All this is part of the business. But "their best" will of course then place in Vienna. With Conchita Wurst it has already exchanged in London at an event. The finds really great and very natural. "And," says Ann Sophie, "she was really for what I am doing is interested." With the Austrian Makemake Ann Sophie has already sung. "Super Boys" are the, "so chilled". With which one could certainly good drink wine. After Udo Jürgens Ann Sophie is then also asked who has finally won for Austria in 1966 and then put down a stellar career. Since the Alleweil friendly face contorts a little snidely. "Nööö," she says, "which I'm not so."
So Ann Sophie Vienna achieved sure she gets from Austria (Österreich Werbung) still presents a Austria backpack. Inside are sparkling, Mannerschnitten (she has never eaten, but it would be of course), a classical CD and - better safe than sorry - a Packerl soap.
Even a red-white-red flag digs Ann Sophie out of the backpack. Very nice. Whether they can even pose with. Anyway, she does like. But in Vienna she sings but then for Germany. (Birgit Baumann from Berlin, 11.05.2015)
