She gets every promo that's possible in Germany nowadays (TV, radio tours) but still she can't make Black Smoke a hit. And her album did not even chart. :(

It's not a hit in Germany. But I think that's not the song itself but the fact that after the preliminary decision was their lobby in Germany really bad and still is. The song is to be good enough much higher in the charts.

That it's not a hit, has indeed nothing to do with her or the song - it's all about the national selection drama. People always have in mind, that she only became second and because of that bad atmosphere no one places bets on her ...that sucks. Still, she has way better chances in the contest itself then Cascada or Elaiza had. While "Glorious" was a bit too mainstream and had a bad draw, "Is it right" wasn't mainstream/modern enough and had by far the worst draw last year... first half, between Conchita and Sanna.
"Black smoke" has a good balance here... It's modern and radio friendly but at the same time her vocals add something special and memorable. If we finally get a good starting position again, she'll finish way better then most of the people believe by now.
For now a place between 15 and 10 seems legit for me - depending on the performance.

By the way, "Black smoke" is currently the 8th most streamed Eurovision 2015 song on Spotify :)

When I take a dictionary and look up the word "optimism", I will probably find a photograph of GermanBango. xcheers

By the way, I think her performance, at least the vocals, are getting better and better :)
At first, I criticited that she "screams" the refrain. Now, she sings it clearly but still powerful. :)

Top 20 should be possible, with a good performance (e.g. stage, I didnt like our stage last year at all :(), Top 15 could be possible as well :D

Regarding which part of the post? If it is about the 15th to 10th placing I am in line with Bango. Both Ann Sophie and the song lack something special that lets them truly shine, but apart from that it is a very decent entry. If she gets out an optimal performance in Vienna I would not even count out the top ten.

And I hope she will return to the black dress. There seems to be a bit of an unresolved wardrobe problem ... :D

Of course it is optimism, at least to a certain extent but there is also a lot of logic behind that. Most (German) people are acting like the rest of the songs are miles ahead of "Black smoke" which clearly isn't the case. Even if one doesn't like the song ... you have to admit that its production is one of the more modern and interesting ones.
I feel like most of the Germans are still a bit butt-hurt because of the Kümmert story and that's why they don't get warm with her or the song ... But fortunately she gets good reception from the relevant countries.

For some reason people don't recognize "Black Smoke's" current mainstream status like they do with Sweden's Guetta rip-off or Australia's Bruno wannabe. Maybe because the retro style Ann Sophie does is not as cool or hip while pop-dance will always be popular with the ESC crowd and Bruno is at his peak so its more cool xshrug They should have waited until Adele came back from her break or something

From Oikotimes. It seems like an extended version of the self introduction video we've seen on the eurovision channel earlier.

Gosh I'm so annoyed by those Germans who seem to have no idea about Eurovision and still try to talk about how bad the chances for Ann Sophie are. oOX
I should stop reading Facebook comments ....

by the way:
This is Judith. She is Ann Sophies stand-in for the technical rehearsals
