Re: GERMANY 2013

How odd. I've been listening to Ave Maris Stella all the time, and loving it to pieces, thinking it was it. I thought it only had to be shortened to 3 minutes. The real song turns out to be inspired in Ave Maris after all, but not the thing itself. Has anyone listened to it then? i can't find it. I'm very bewildered :s

Hello, I'm SirLinus from Germany. Here's my Top 3 for Unser Song für Malmö.

1. Ben Ivory - The Righteous Ones xheart
2. Betty Dittrich - Lalala
3. Mia Diekow - Lieblingslied

Worst Case: Die Priester, Die Söhne Mannheims, and - sorry - Cascada. xdown

The radios may be 9, but they all send you to the same site to vote. Why would they want people to go into such a voting frenzy anyway? It would be off the point. It would be mad.

Actually this makes sense as it is a bit like the Bundesvision Song Contest. The 9 radio stations represent more or less the 16 Bundesländer. In the show each radio station will announce its respective points to the artists (12, 10, 9 ...) so the artist who gets the most points of alle the radio stations will win the vote.

Vote for the best song Germany,
not for the most popular name.

It would make sense if the people voting for each Bundeslander were different. But this way it's like you're in eurovision and you're German and you're favourite song is, say Sweden. You'd go everywhere around europe to cast your vote on the swedish song. And between the Spanish votes for example, there would pop your German contribution up! It's nuts, lol.

BTW, has anyone managed to listen to the real song by The Priester, "Meerstern, sei gegrüßt"?

Even more, the way it is the whole of Europe can give their vote on the German entry. I guess they made it that way because each of the 9 radio stations wanted to have a share of the ESC (and it's publicity). Limiting the voting to Germany would be difficult and to the station's region next to impossible.

What do you mean? The song is playable on the voting website.

You are right, but this is also the case in the Bundesvision Song Contest. It's just to make the final voting more interesting, but I think that there are indeed different people voting for each Bundesland. Most people don't really care about Eurovision and they might only see this vote on the website of "their" local radio station. Therefore they won't vote at every poll.

You can listen to "Meerstern, sei gegrüßt" on this site (at least in Germany?!):

Re: GERMANY 2013

Well, I'm outside Germany and the song played there is "Ave Maris Stella". That is weird. All the other songs are working properly.
It's the same song. "Ave Maris Stella" means "Meerstern sei gegrüßt" in German. They do not intend to translate the song, do they?

So that explains it then. It's been Ave Maris Stella all along. I'm relieved. God!, was I feeling cheated :?

Re: GERMANY 2013

Are these Cascada people trying to immitate Loreen? Everytime I hear Gloooorious I seem to be listening to Euphooooria. Or is it the other way around, for when Loreen popped up on the scene the Cascadas were already on and on about it?

Re: GERMANY 2013

You can vote more than 1 time. I don´t know if someone wrote it here already.

You can vote 1 time with 1 e-mail but at all 9 radio stations!

I'm not sure whether that is altogether a good thing. I can picture in my mind all the Cascada fans going mad and doing a voting party all over the place

(yes, it's been talked about ;) )
