Re: GERMANY 2013

Btw, if it's Oceana, then it's a real competition for Cascada. People say that there's another act that is more famous within the locals, but I think Cascada is the big favorite at the moment, without even listening to the song. I liked all the songs of Cascada I've heard so far, both their own songs and their covers, so I'm optimistic. I'm not a big fan of Oceana, though. I like her as a singer, and her image overall, but I find her songs just ok, nothing more. Cry Cry is an ok song but I'm not crazy about it, same happens to Endless Summer.

Oh God no. Cascada reminds me of music I liked when I was 8 years old or something

It's kind of ridiculous how A-lister is trying to convince others that Cascada is not a big name. Come on, even I know who they are.

Could be because the song was recorded in 2004, if I'm right. :D

@Cypriot: Is a competition for Cascada yet, because Söhne Mannheims will receive a lot of votes for sure and maybe even are the favorite. I personally hope, theres no other big name coming up - and please not Tim Bendzko, who is also rumoured...

Well, only the big name though won't be enough. If I'm not mistaken the entry will be selected 50/50 jury & televote. So even if the televoters put the big names at the top, you never know what the juries will do.

Re: GERMANY 2013

If I recall it correctly the voting will be 1/3 televote, 1/3 juries and 1/3 the votes of the radio audience of all the radio stations of the ARD. The song which is most popular with the radio audience will most likely be successful in the national final. Therefore Cascada might have an advantage, at least if her song isn't totally crap.

And yet they're hardly big sellers which meaneth their participation hardly poses a risk to them. Kate Ryan was also 'known' in a lot of countries. Period.

Furthermore I think it is unwise to weave radio stations that play only pop music into the voting. The German audience does not consist of Pop fans only.

What's up with your continous comparison between Cascada and Kate Ryan? We're not claiming thatCascada is going to be more successful at ESC because of their STatus but they are MUCH bigger name. Heck, Cascada sold 35 million copies, and Kate Ryan probabaly only around a million....You can't argue the fact that Cascasa is much bigger than Kate though it won't necessarily help them in May, if Germany ends up sending them.

And I agree with you on the radio audience votes, that's a really bad idea.

This discussion is still going on?

Regardless of whether they can be quantifiable considered a big name, think of it this way; everyone who reads this forum has likely heard of Cascada.

I don't know how old you are :D

Someone in a british forum, who already heard the song, said that "Glorious" would be "brilliant" and "the best since ETD" (ETD = Evacuate the Dancefloor) - Sounds awesome!

Re: GERMANY 2013

Earlier this week German broadcaster NDR announced eleven of the twelve acts taking part in their national final this year. Some of the songs we could even already listen too, because snippets were already available on the net. Eurovisionireland.net now found out however that one of the songs seems to have been available on Youtube for more than a half a year already, which makes it impossible to submit for this year's Eurovision Song Contest: Little Sister by Mobilée

Also heard of it. But are the ARD and Brainpool so dumb that they don't know the rules?!

Edit: It is interesting to note that the song of Finn Martin was ALSO uploaded before September 1st, but currently someone is trying to hide this fact by deleting the old videos, for example this one was deleted today (what a coincidence):

They did a good job. Whereas before a few days there were several videos out there uploaded before September 1st, now you have to dig a bit deeper. If you click on the video below you will have to click on "Stats" and then "Previous" until you hit August 31st. Clearly there were some views before September 1st. I'm curious how long it will take them to take this video down.

The juries will screw over Cascada though, i'm hoping there is something more interesting in the NF

So we've got Mobilée + Finn Martin disqualified and maybe Die Priester... Is Germany going Ukrainian this year ? :D
