Re: GERMANY 2013

Well, if Cascada want to revive their career in the UK and Europe then they'd need a really good song first...if the song they send isn't good enough, then it's not gonna work

Re: GERMANY 2013

With that they need radio support, and UK radio boycotts everything Eurovision related.

That's why Loreen made it to #3 in the UK. In the UK, Cascada has nothing to lose, so it's a good deal for them. In other countries, there is a lot to lose of course...

@Sean: Cascadas UK Label said that "Glorious" is "pretty damn good" - Sounds good.

True, I actually forgot that Blue ended up at #5 with the televoting.

What bonus?
What bonus? The song was weak, so ending up as 5th in televoting IS of course because of the bonus
Nobody says that "Bonus" means automatically "Win".

Listen to the songs of the 2011 final again and you should come to the conclusion that it was actually deserved. I'd even be relieved if Cascada could come up with something as decent as I can.
However, we'd better wait for the songs to be presented. Cascada haven't won yet.

Radio 1 is the most influential radio station in terms of charts and they only played Loreen when they had to, so she did incredibly well to get #3

Yeah, Loreen made it because of her song, but the radio didn't support so she fell of the charts very quick.

Of course Cascada has nothing to lose, that was my initial point... since they have not much of a career these days anyways this could only help them.

I doubt their record label would say that their song would be bad.

Re: GERMANY 2013

But the US have no impact in this, that's what I meant.

Yeah, tbh I already forgot the point of this discussion

I just remember I reacted to this comment saying that because they're supposedly a 'big act' they also take a risk with entering, and from there I argued that they're not that 'big' anymore to begin with

Lol, I thinking we were talking past each other. I was merely referring to the fact that I felt you were underestimating their "Big name" status. I was not referring to Eurovision but their general Status. Anyway, I'm over this ;)

Re: GERMANY 2013

I don't really care whether they are considered as a big name or not, but I am pretty optimistic about their entry! That's because I'm sure that they wouldn't enter the German NF, if they didn't have a good song! :D

Re: GERMANY 2013

I forgot about the fact that Cascada's two DJs (Yanou and Manian) are actually fairly well known in their own respect. DJ Sammy collaborated with Yanou on "Heaven" and Manian has had a fair few solo songs too;

Re: GERMANY 2013

I'm just happy that Germany is taken this very seriously. We may or may not end up with with a good song but at least the broadcaster put in the effort which is a big improvement from what we saw in the 00s

Aaw, I really like this song xcheer

If she's the last name, I hope for something fun and catchy as this.

It was a really odd song for EURO 2012 though as it has no connection to neither Poland or Ukraine that hosted it.

Think about it! Maybe the German ESC people thought "Hmmm we new something new this year. Something fresh and exciting". And the 21st century get really popular and they saw just how much people love Joy so they were like "This is our star for Malmo!"
