It was clear from the beginning that it wasn't amazing but it certainly wasn't that bad. It's not painful in the way that Europe didn't like our song but that several crap entries had a higher placing than Cascada (for example Belarus just to name one country). Obviously the people start to question the whole bloc voting once again. Just to be clear: The same can be said about France as well.
for that matter, romania ended up higher. imo, romania had one of the worst songs in last few decades
but u know that happens in esc, it's not something new xshrug

looks like it's better to send something completely wild and outrageous than something in winners style  (yeah, i'm still sticking to that and arguments keep piling up xrofl2)

seriously xshrug

Actually Cascada is not high on Itunes but she does not that bad either which means she was destroyed by the juries...

Then, no she was not great on Saturday. She wasn't on tune at the beginning, and there was a delay with music at the beginning also. But I don't think it's the most relevant thing. The show was not on its greatest. It lacked something. Because, F.... she OWNED the stage. Have you seen this furia in the arena ??? No one did that on the evening !!!!

I'm sure juries sucked there !

Cascada was rated pretty highly before the final, so the talk about politics, plagiarism etc. is moot. It all fell apart yesterday evening when Natalie didn't deliver. I had the feeling from the beginning that something was wrong. She did not catch me, and I doubt she caught many of the viewers except the staunchest fans. In this kind of music you need to project energy and control. Natalie had a lot of energy, but she wasn't in control. It was not convincing.

I don't know what was wrong.

I think that's often a sentiment of many countries at Eurovision, so Germany isn't alone there.

Trying to understand Eurovision sometimes just leads to pain. :p

(As said above, it was probably the juries that destroyed her. I can't imagine the UK public not giving her any points at all after being so successful there.)

Ehm no. If that was the case then Eric Saade shouldn't have even made it to the final in 2011!

As someone who doesn't like either voice much (Eric's or Natalie's) I can say objectivey that Eric had sounded better back in 2011 than Natalie sounded last night. Plus, Popular had a very well staged act. Glorious was missing the same thing Hero (Sweden) did in 2008...it was a dance song without dancing. Cascada counted too much on Natalie herself and it's a very rare singer that can deliver a dance song without dancing.

I still don't understand how Germany was ranked so poorly. Granted, her voice wasn't the best on the night - but she got the crowd dancing and cheering for her. It was a real party.

And this coming from someone who aren't really a fan.

Did anyone else receive the free mix of "Glorious" from Cascada's team via email?

Who would have said Cascada would break Germany's recent habit of getting in top 10?
Officially the most underrated entry of the year.
Her vocals were flawless.
The song was not bad at all.
I don't know what was wrong.

I know what was wrong. Wrong was that she was adversiting USA in her postcard. Well, this is Eurovision. She may be American, it doesn't mean carring USA to Eurovision is a right thing to do. I would like to see her higher places until I saw her postcard.

His stage performance was better. Cascada was boring AND out of tune.

I think Cascada flopping was predictable even before the final. There must have been many factors including:

- Rather uninspiring performance
- Obvious genre resemblance with "Euphoria" (not a copy mind you)
- Objectively one of the weaker songs by Cascada
- Disappointing chart performance

I see that the German press is blaming Cascada's result on Germany's stance in the European crisis. That's making me laugh almost as much as Terry Wogan's infamous blaming of Jemini's nul points on the Iraq war.

what? her postcard was filmed in Cologne, you can see the Kölner Dom and everything.
All I remember about her postcard is she was painting her shoes as USA flag and was wearing a USA t shirt when she went balcony.

she didn't paint her shoes in an usa flag and she wasn't advertising america just because she wore an usa shirt.. it's "stylish" to wear american flags ;)

So I must be color-blind.

It's not stylish at all in Eurovision. Like I said before, let Europe be Europe. This is as wrong as seeing something about Arabic countries in Eurovision. I can't see any difference??

just because it's blue it doesnt mean she is painting an usa flag?! :D

and really.. who cares about the postcards? it's the performance what matters and not a stupid postcard

Well, so you think this blue is so random between USA t shirts, flags and other materals? Very sensable.
Most of people care about postcards. Even if they don't, it doesn't show us postcards are useless and shouldn't mean anything.
You have so strange and advocates mandatory logic.

oh my god, tell me.. why should she even paint an usa flag? she also could paint an british flag but she is painting the whole thing in blue

and it's still pathetic to say that you know what wrong was - advirtising the usa because she was wearing an usa shirt
