FSC September 2011 - Norway
FSC Norway - September 2011 - Anine Stang - Dominoes
Representing Norway in FSC September 2011 is the Norwegian pop/dance-artist and songwriter Anine Stang with her Eurodance-song “Dominoes”. Here is some more information about her.
Anine Victoria Stang - artist name Anine Stang - was born 25th February 1985 in Oslo, Norway. From an early age she had a passion and love for music. In her childhood-years she took part in several childrens musicals and plays. She wrote her first song at the age of 10 and received her first record contract with Sony Music Entertainment at the early age of 15. She did, however, break that contract because she disagreed with the record company’s choice of music for her. She went on to study music and dance at High School in Oslo before moving to the USA (New York) in 2004 to attend the New York Film Academy.
She returned to Norway and started an underground band with, among others, fellow musician Kim Nordbæk. They called themselves “Million Dollar Baby” and did som music-gigs in Norway. In 2006 Anine took part in the NRK tv-program “Kjempesjansen” (music/dance talent-program), and released her song “Moments of Magic” which received some radio-play that year. She decided to return to the USA to grow as a musician and songwriter and headed for Los Angeles. There she made music with another band and wrote songs for more established artists. She is known there for having played at the famous rock-club “The Viper Room” and for being on the Music Connection’s (famous music magazine) “Hot 100 unsigned artists in the USA”-list in 2008. She worked with Bill Siddons (ex-manager for The Doors) while in the USA and with musicians who had worked with famous American singers. It was difficult to break through in the USA, however, and so Anine returned to Norway after 3 years.
Back in Oslo Anine was offered a record contract by Universal Music and she soon started working on new songs. Her first single with her new label was “Trying You On”. It was released in 2010 and besides receiving critical acclaim the accompanying music-video was popular on MTV. The singles “Dinnertime” and Christmas Card” followed later in 2010, the latter song was a charity-song for the Norwegian Red Cross.
Discography
2006: Moments of Magic (single, released under the name «Anine & Lasse»)
2010: Trying You On (single)
2010: Dinnertime (single)
2010: Christmas Card (single)
2011: Dominoes (single, released february 2011)
Her latest single, the Eurodance-stomper “Dominoes”, was released in February 2011. The music-video for the song includes the well-known Norwegian professional handball-player Kristian Kjelling in a role and it is somewhat original in style in that it plays out like a short film where the song starts playing only after 1 min 45 secs into the video. The song has become popular among her fans, also on the internet, and has received some radio-play as well. Anine hopes to release an album with her songs in the near future.
Anine has also taken part in several tv-shows in the past couple of years. She took part in “Det Store Korslaget” (choir-contest between Norwegian celebrities) on Norwegian TV2 in early 2011, and also was a participant in the tv-show “Zebra Grand Prix” (2010). Besides these tv-appearances she was the opening act (supporting act/warm-up act) for the pop-group A1 at Rockefeller (well known music-venue in Oslo) and also took part in several outdoor concerts in Norway in 2010/2011.
She is a talented pop/dance-artist and an established songwriter, an up and coming singer/artist from Norway, from whom we will without doubt hear more in the coming years.
Our entry for FSC September, “Dominoes”, is alas a catchy Norwegian Eurodance-song by a talented artist and singer. We are happy to enter Anine Stang in the FSC for Norway, and to give you a song in a musical genre which is not very common among Norwegian musical artists in 2011 (it was more so around 1998-2003).
Below are the English lyrics for the song. We hope you’ll enjoy the Norwegian entry for September!
Anine Stang - Dominoes
Go o o o o o - Go Dominoes
Go o o o o o - Go Dominoes
I can be so immature, needy, messy, insecure
I did it again, I did it again
I always seem to cross the line, I should wear a warning sign
I did it again, I did it again
Things that I don't mean to say
End up driving you away
What a wicked price to pay
My whole world goes
Dominoes, when you go
Baby don't leave me
Dominoes Dominoes
I fall apart
Stay with me, I can be
Better, believe me
Please don't make me
Go o o o o o - Go Dominoes
Go o o o o o - Go Dominoes
I know only you can dry
Tears that I’m about to cry
That’s right I said it, finally get it
Nothing’s good without you here
I might as well just disappear
Finally said it, finally get it
Promise, I can make it right
If you let me try tonight
What we have is worth the fight
My whole world goes
Dominoes, when you go
Baby don't leave me
Dominoes Dominoes
I fall apart
Stay with me, I can be
Better, believe me
Please don't make me
Go o o o o o - Go Dominoes
Go o o o o o - Go Dominoes
Go o o o o o - Go Dominoes
Please don’t let me
Fall out of your life
I can't pick up the pieces
If you say goodbye
My whole world goes
Dominoes, when you go
Baby don't leave me
Dominoes Dominoes, I fall apart
Dominoes, when you go
Baby don't leave me
Dominoes Dominoes
I fall apart
Stay with me, I can be
Better, believe me
Please don't make me
Go o o o o o - Go Dominoes
Go o o o o o - Go Dominoes
I can be so immature, needy, messy, insecure
(Go o o o o o - Go Dominoes)
Dominoes Dominoes, I fall apart
I always seem to cross the line, I should wear a warning sign
(Go o o o o o - Go Dominoes)
Please don't make me
Go o o o o o - Go Dominoes
Please don’t let me go
