Re: FRANCE 2018

One positive thing I'm taking from this NF: I'm glad to know that I still remember some bits of French I learned at school 7 years ago  Genuinely surprised at that

Emmy Liyana - "O.K Ou K.O.": The voice I like the most so far. It starts nicely, it's contemporary and credible, and well-produced and thought out. I like the tempo, the groove of it (it sounds like Zazie at times, which isn't a bad thing), the "high note" is well-introduced (unlike in "Eva"). It's a bit repetitive melody-wise, but I think I like that song tbh, there are enough elements for it to keep me interested. With a nice staging and vocal rehearsals, she could rock this tbh. +1 for the pink hair and black lipstick  Go Emmy!

i really like the show so far. Probably better than a random Melodifestivalen semi.

Re: FRANCE 2018

That wasn't anything special imo. It was alright but It just plodded along at the same pace throughout. I'm not getting this Spanish eurofan style hype right now in the audience.

This is my worry, I feel like if this is the selected song for Lisbon I'll maybe get tired of it by May! But hey, that doesn't matter, it causes a great first impression and that is the most important thing. With the right staging and Emmy's amazing look it can be a very powerful entry in May.

Emmy Liyana - the only negative thing is her look. I mean clothes. + she was a little bit stiff in the beginning. I liked her. Not sure if her entry gets many points in Lisbon.

Omg you're all so rough with the French entries so far... :(

I think one of the problems is this small stage, it doesn't allow the songs to shine and reach their potential. It's always hard to judge in these situations.

Re: FRANCE 2018

Well, I'd say that you're much more able to focus on the entry, which is the most important thing to do?

Whatever, the stage from Destination Eurovision won't be alike with the one in Lisbon.

Enéa - "I'll Be There": tropical-house hybrid, here we come... Pleasant enough song to listen to when it's on, but it's very transparent both musically and vocally. This stands no chance, despite the fun Enéa seems to have on stage. I don't get this trend of choruses in English, it feels so out of place to me. Cute but meh, quickly heard, quickly forgotten.

Re: FRANCE 2018

Well that was a terrible vocal performance. But the song is a fun little bop!
