The odds aren't looking good ... at this rate Ukraine will be 2. by tomorrow
In that case, this will no longer be a joke:

Well, in this case the audience might still prefer the honest peace message over something that's so plastic that not even China would want to have its name written on it.

Hopefully.
None of these two songs is my cup of tea, so I will still hope that Amir´s natural charm and magical "you-ou-ou-ou" still can save the day. I see as a positive thing that France decided not to compete with Russian megalomania with some silly circus gimmick or aggressive "punch-in-face" staging. Firstly, it would be inappropriate for a song like this and secondly, it wouldn´t offer an alternative. So I hope that perhaps people will be so tired of all the conflicts around Europe (and countries involved in them) that they will appreciate some simple, likeable song sung by an ordinary looking French dentist, regardless his staging*. Predictions are based on past, but world is changing every day, so... who really knows?
*or they will surprise me even more positively and will vote for a certain triangle-loving young lady from the heart of Central Europe.
Hopefully.

What better country for a singing dentist than Sweden. Have we ever had two of them in Eurovision?
So the tradition of my favourites having disappointing first rehearsals continues.
Well to be honest I wasn't surprised with this since I'm used to this by now (Honestly knowing my luck I expected it). Hopefully like all my favourites before him him Amir will improve in the second rehearsal or I'll have my second ever switch of favourites (this only happened once for me in 2014 when the Netherlands overtook Hungary as my favourites).
If you're wondering here are my favourites which had disappointing first rehearsals:
-2010, -2012, -2013
For the other years I didn't have clear favourites.
Well, let's face it .... the song is still amazingly catchy and doing pretty well around Europe. I'm quite sure that he's going to end up in the Top 5 with the televoters but what about the Juries though?
It's not that we wanted a gimmick or anything rivaling Russia's stage show. It's just that the colour theme is waytoo cold and the stage feels way too empty. He's getting swallowed up and that's really not good for a warm, enjoyable song. I'm really upset with this performance. France have thrown their hopes away
