I know how it looks on camera. With a live audience all bouncing around it'll look great, trust me. Massive improvement between the first and third run through. The only problem is his high notes. He was inconsistent at best during the big notes. I think this is still one of the few songs that could keep up with Russia though.

Well, Russia aren't winning either, so I don't think that will be too difficult.

From all the videos of the pre-parties and whatnot I've seen, Amir really thrives in front of a crowd. Aside from that, I thought he looked and sounded good from the snippet on the ESC channel and I like the simple staging. I think it just needs a little fine-tuning between now and Sunday's second rehearsal, other than that I don't get all the hate I've been seeing, especially from Wiwi

Compared to the Russian staging, the French staging is obviously much simpler and it doesn't have a wow factor based on graphics but it puts the singer and the song at the center. Therefore, Amir can actually focus on smiling into the camera and looking likeable, something he is very good at, as we know.

I don't know how many people prefer this strategy over the Russian strategy but I think both will have many fans and the juries will probably go for the simpler staging. The problem with Russia is that it looks too plastic. I think Amir will be able to connect better with the audience because he isn't just moving around like a robot for three minutes. Last year's stick figures were at least cute and the chorus didn't use the projections at all. Måns could connect with the audience because he was singing directly into the camera without any projections during the chorus. Sergey's staging lacks such a part until the end, when he stands on top of the screen like a rooster on a dunghill making him look rather cocky.

I read that some Russian journalists immediately told Amir that his odds are "rapidly drifting" and they asked him how and if he even wants to try to catch up to Sergey ... if this is true .... uhm arrogance much?

Jesus Christ, you talk more about Russia than me.
I think that you are secretly in love with Sergey.
Do you want his pee-pee in your poo-poo?

Haha, okay. Just to mention I've seen that on screen too, it's almost certain...

Not just Russian journalists. They kept reminding Amir he was one of the favourites and whether he felt any negative pressure. Quite unprofessional, unfair questions from the room. But yes, the Russian guy telling him his odds are drifting was really rude.

I quite enjoyed Amir's meet and greet aside from that Russian arse. I thought he had great answers to all the questions, especially the comment regarding the staging

I don't really see what is wrong with his first rehearsal. It is simple and focuses on Amir charisma and smile. And I'm sure we will have a surprise on sunday.

I just watched the press conference meet and greet. That really was an awkward moment.

They are the two favorites so it makes sense to compare them, wouldn't you agree?

The animated version would have been better, I agree. :(

I found Michele's perplexed expression with "no" the perfect response to "you don't like him so do you want to put his pee-pee in your poo-poo" actually.

As a fan of Sergey's flashy performance, he expected an animated GIF. I understand. I fully understand...
As a fan of Amir's down-to-earth outer space staging, I thought a classic picture might be enough. But no. No No Never.
