Compared to the Russian staging, the French staging is obviously much simpler and it doesn't have a wow factor based on graphics but it puts the singer and the song at the center. Therefore, Amir can actually focus on smiling into the camera and looking likeable, something he is very good at, as we know.
I don't know how many people prefer this strategy over the Russian strategy but I think both will have many fans and the juries will probably go for the simpler staging. The problem with Russia is that it looks too plastic. I think Amir will be able to connect better with the audience because he isn't just moving around like a robot for three minutes. Last year's stick figures were at least cute and the chorus didn't use the projections at all. Måns could connect with the audience because he was singing directly into the camera without any projections during the chorus. Sergey's staging lacks such a part until the end, when he stands on top of the screen like a rooster on a dunghill making him look rather cocky.
