It´s empty in that sense that he is alone on the stage, yes. But the projections are quite warm, he is moving, not just standing... It doesn´t look that hopeless after all.

Maybe it's the same as with Greta's first rehearsal. Now after the second rehearsal everyone says she was great.

I'll admit my expectations weren't very high watching the snippet, but they rose again. This angle doesn't say much and the song is three minutes long, but it looks good and sounds good. The backgrounds seem a little dark, but who knows how it looks on camera. Amir's singing is said not to have been perfect, and that may be the case, but they picked a snippet where I don't hear many flaws. Eagerly awaiting a full rehearsal - there's massive overreacting going on right and left at present, the second rehearsal will tell us much more. The semi artists have already had their chance to develop their acts and all that jazz.

Now i am sure its my personal winner this year, even little snippet is great for me, after seeing half of rehearsals with a billion of decorations, effects etc (russia wins that overdoing surely), this simple but great staging looks awesome. And ofc all starts from quality hittish song

i mean there's a difference between Mans and his terrible and creepy little guy and just a "Space" (Stars let's say) backdrop that means something big, silent and empty (i mean that's how I (emphasis on I) see space). It's only a few seconds preview but he seems to work with the cam but not really moving from the place where he stands, he's actually "alive", doing some "moves" but not walking or something. Remember Mans when he left his...his... his thing mapped and run to the crowd to have this little energy to bring the chorus ?

I don't think it's bad, it just feels empty for me, he's alone, standing, doesn't really communicate with the globen (but the camera)

Wiwibloggs has the great ability to turn something great into something bad and the reverse as well.
Do you all remember their judgement/opinion on Ira's song?
They predicted it to be "awesome, stunning" and all in all.. boring? messy?

Don't listen to them, because (not only because it's my country... ) deserves much better opinion than what they delivered to us today.
Staging in amazing, simple instead of something GREAT with pyros and... well, that's what every songs/artists need: a simple staging in order to strenghten their performance.

My post isn't meant to criticize the 'more elaborate' performances such as one.
To me, a song means a lot, and the performance adds something which isn't felt by every people who actually listen to the songs at first.

After all those bad comments I was expecting a tragedy on the scene, horrible vocals or something like that but we have a really nice guy without any special effects who just enjoys his catchy and high quality song, sings perfectly and spontaneously and definitely will reach the top during this contest. After MANY of overloaded performances, naked people, wolfs, artists flying around on the stage, finally we got THE SONG for song contest.

I mean it isn't as good as I hoped but it's definitely not as bad as many people said!

I know how it looks on camera. With a live audience all bouncing around it'll look great, trust me. Massive improvement between the first and third run through. The only problem is his high notes. He was inconsistent at best during the big notes. I think this is still one of the few songs that could keep up with Russia though.
