In my opinion it is:
France 2016 > 2015
Germany 2016 > 2015
UK 2016 >> 2015
Spain 2016 > 2015
[Italy 2016 < 2015]

Better than in the last year 100%

I would agree on that. The only really weak one is Spain for me.

In my opinion it is:
France 2016 > 2015

For me -

France 2015 -> 2016
Germany 2015 -> 2016
UK 2015 = 2016
Spain - 2015 -> 2016
Italy don't have a song yet so can't judge, but nothing can beat Grande Amore I feel.

6 points for the French song in what continues to be one of the lowest quality Eurovisons in many years.

I'm pretty disappointed. I expected better from France and I wouldn't be surprised if they still end up in the 20s. There's so many typical pop songs this year.

It's fine.....a pleasant toe-tapper but nothing too exciting about this entry either.
I give it 6 points.

That's a big improvement at a time when I didn't expect anything from France anymore.
Normally I don't like bilingual songs in Eurovision because usually that means that the first two minutes are in the singer's native language and then the final minute is in English because it's Eurovision. The result tends to be awful. In this song, having a chorus in English and verses in French blends together quite well, though.
I like it. I give it 8 points.

I'm usually not a fan of bilingual songs as well, most of the time it just doesn't fit. Therefore I didn't have high expectations for this song but surprise surprise! It's actually really good! The English chorus doesn't bother me at all, the song is catchy and in comparison to all the other songs from France in recent years this is heaven right now.

So, now France sends something, for the first time in a few years, if they end up in a bad place, the delegation tantrum would be completely justified.

Lovely tune, the integration between the French parts and the English parts feel organic and natural, and I like Amir's voice: sweet enough, but with a little "edge" vibe. Can't say if this one is the best so far, but is definitively one of the best produced songs in this edition.

8/12.

So France really wants to save its own disaster in Eurovision with this song? I mean, the song is not bad, but it's extraordinarily bland, certainly the worst of the big-5. 4 points.

Very good choice France! I would have preferred to have it entirely in french, but be it.
Hopefully this is not a sign that the last countries that sticked to their language in the past turn slowly to english and the ESC becomes an uni-language-contest.

since winners almost always influence the overall music style we hear the year after.

if only it was the case... i really hoped when euphoria won that we would have some strong pop novelty acts but we just had Glorious. I do think that - for a reason i can't explain - people tend to choose a runner-up like song or inspired : For the common linnets we had a lot of duets in 2015 (8 countries for maybe 2-3 (duets or not) really inspired by "Calm after the storm"). I already feel this year "funk" vibe with Belgium and Finland (due to the huge success of uptown funk but also the good result of Australia).

I'm very curious about the results France will have by the way. Not a winning song but we can't say they don't try this time. I'm just afraid that even finishing second they'll say that ESC is stupid and political. (2nd with any songs of course, not this one)
