I just read Rumours that there will be a Jurydeal between :pt: and :bg:. Curious to see how it will turn out in the End.

I mean... for once RTVE takes Eurovision seriously and it looks like :es: will be the opener of the final and everybody will forget it by the end of the show xfacepalmKill us.

"We’ve had not 1 but 3 winners over the years that performed in the first position. These were 1984’s Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley, 1976’s Save Your Kisses For Me and 1975’s Ding-A-Dong."

I put my tinfoil hat on :

it seems that none of the big 5 was relying on the LED sun, now i'm wondering if they kept the sun that side because the biggest contributors were like "it's fine like this" .

Taking off my tinfoil hat

Also I'm wondering if there is gonna be a special brief for the juries about Ukraine. A special sentence like "All countries should be judged equally" you know what I mean... I would find it weird for them to do that but at the same time I can see EBU doing that (but that would only be to prevent Ukraine to win I guess)

Every year we do this, every year people panic over the early starting positions. Well somebody has to go first and we've seen entries who close the final flop

There have always been jury deals unfortunately from what I was told. I guess in some countries if you know the right people it would work…

I have a 2017 deja vu… Portugal and Bulgaria trying to prevent Italy from winning?! :ROFLMAO:

Maybe not, you just can do more with tons of spotlights and LED lights than a low-def LED screen.

Hello 2016.
Also, you can win by coming second or less in both jury and/or televote.

However, there's a chance juries will give points to Ukraine to show that the broadcasters are 'supporting Ukraine in the war'.

I'm still open to the idea that jury points could possibly be speculated and directed by each broadcaster's delegation, as seen from what Italy usually does with their jury points in the recent years.

The Aussievision podcast suggested something similar. They said that no jury member would want to be seen as “the one who didn’t give Ukraine any points” simply because it would be bad optics. So jury members who may have had Ukraine just outside their top 10s might be inclined to bump them up a few ranks into the 1-3 pts range just for good measure. Repeat this for 40 countries and it certainly will add up in terms of overall score. Obviously if juries are putting Ukraine in the bottom half of their ranking then it doesn’t really apply.

As for :es:, I mean it is good for :es: Eurovision standards. But once again it is hyped to death by Spanish fanboys. I can easily see it ending out of top 10.

It’s definitely the clear opener for the final after all, they will chose it if they don’t serve us special treatment for the big 5…
In fact she’s faced hatred from a considerable sector of the Spanish fanbase. If anything, the hype has been done mostly by non-Spanish fans. Spanish hardcore eurofans might feel rightfully enthusiastic, and are probably quite loud in forums, youtube and social media, but the best predictions come from abroad.

She can indeed end up out of top 10, but expecting her to do it better than that isn’t out of reach either.

I personally don’t think it’s a clear opener, merely because it’s uptempo and dance. Producers don’t tend to draw such entries first, they might save it for an in crescendo momentum.
Justifying the possible fail of your draw prediction with a supposed favoritism for the big 5 has no basis.

Ukraine would have done great on a normal year. It's a great song with great staging.

I wouldn't worry too much it's not bad thing Olga to open. It's perfectly winnable, and with a strong song it can stand out and be a very memorable opener. Ukraine 2014, Belgium 2016 come top 10 overall, and Ukraine in 2018 come top 10 in the televote and all were openers. Arguably slot 2 is worse, no one has ever won from 2. You should only worry if Spains entry was average to bad which it isn't.
