Would like to see more hype for Anet. I'm worried about her live performance abilities/charisma but the song alone is a banger.
Serotoniin is really good, a feel good song, it may be my no.1 atm (sorry Ollie...), but I'm little concerned about the live rendition. It will probably be in my top 3 even if it crashes and burns, but my favourites of Eesti Laul NEVER win, so... (Even if Alika last year actually deserved to win, I must say. She slayed live in ESC).
Btw almost everyone seems to like FOMO, and well... I don't find nothing interesting in that song, it's middle of the road. And I actually should like that song, because I love the genre. But something isn't there...
Here is my top 10 at the moment:
1 - Anet Vaikmaa - Serotoniin (Hilary Duff meets Avril Lavigne. As I said, really cool song. I've listened to it quite a few times and it really grew on me a lot. The fact it is in Estonian is a big plus and I just ADORE that chorus! Seems pretty tame but it I find it frigging anthemic. Great song! Has near to no chances of winning, but I'm rooting for Anet and hoping she delivers)
2 - Ollie - My Friend (the song may not be as strong as "Venom" which I adored since day one and has been one of my most listened Eurovision related songs in 2023, but it still is really good and I have no doubt the rendition will be incredible)
3 - 5miinust & Puulup - (Nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi (Chaotic but really funny and catchy song. At first I was "wtf is this?" but I must admit that after thinking that way, I listened it on loop for other three or four times, so it is a good way to be "wtf")
4 - Traffic - Wunderbar (Another feel good song. In this case I didn't like it that much the first time I listened to it or I didn't pay enough Attention to this song, anyway I started to really like it after two or three listens)
5 - Antsud - Vetevaim (Probably the most underrated song on Eesti Laul: I'm thinking I'm the only one that likes this song. It's very folky and almost theatrical, it reminds me of some Angelo Branduardi works and I actually love him. So, yeah, I actually like it. Is it for Eurovision? Absolutely no. But it's for me)
6 - Inga - No dog on a leash (Interesting song concept, not really my style but it's actually captivating. Looking for the live performance)
7 - Peter Poder - Korra Veel (really good vibe and he seems to have a really good voice. Not bad at all. Could be a grower)
8 - Brother Apollo - Bad boy (Actually it seems the most solid among the 5 selected songs for the final. Lyrics could have been better and sound a little cheap in some parts, but the song has an interesting sound. Decent entry)
9 - Nele-Liis Vaiksoo - Käte ümber jää (Another one I found slightly underrated. The song's scheme is quite classica, but I just love her voice and I think the song may even grow on me, because I find it really intriguing. Again, this one is not for Eurovision, but I kinda like it)
10 - Cecilia - FOMO (As I said, I'm not the biggest fan of it. I like the genre, the song is decent and I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to Mälmo, because I can see some potential. But I'm not completely sold. Maybe I will be in few weeks, who knows?)
