I agree with this. Because Horehronie was one of my pre-favorites and I was disappointed by the performance in the SF, but still it could go through if it wasn't Slovakia but another country with neighbors and diaspora.
Denmark isn't in the same shoes with Slovakia for that (it has its neighbors that support it when it sends something strong), plus this is a song that is usually enjoyed by non-ESC fans too, unlike Horehronie that I remember most of my friends (non-ESC fans) that didn't like that song when I showed to them. This didn't happen with "Only Teardrops", it has the chance to be liked by non-ESC fans too. I don't see Denmark flopping at all! This song has what the previous entries of Denmark hadn't, it has something interesting and it's not boring. If the blandest of bland songs "come on girls come boys in this crazy crazy world" came so high (thanks to juries too) then why not "Only Teardrops" too?

Interesting that you mention this song, they both have the same composer

Really? I'm not really surprised because I've seen composers having bigger contrast than these two songs. At least 2011 entry was just bland, not bad song. There are composers who write horror songs and amazing songs, I can't explain it

Unlike some countries in the south (like Germany i.e.) we allways have the composers on stage with the winners and they are as much known as the performers that evening. Lise Kappel (the composer is a woman) also wrote the danish entry in 1995 (my fave of all time danish esc entries) Fra mols til Skagen
Look it up on youtube it came 5th. (Teardrops is her 3ed entry in the ESC and the ..... entry in the danish final (feels like shes there every year)
Or these two songs, they are from the same composer too: 3

Great.... they do sound like songs that Crypess normally sends to the ESC but I can't remember seeing them in top 10
The first song is really nice
As for the second one, I think the theme, the video and the lyrics is what makes it look like a joke... but as far as music/composition goes it's not THAT far off is it? A bit meh perhaps...
What is Crypess? What are you want to say? None of them is Cypriot, and none of them is ESC song or having anything to do with ESC :?
The first one is a folk and traditional Minor Asian influenced Greek song and the second is a trash/joke song. Something like the contrast of "Ein Bisschen Frieden" and "The Social Network Song".
I think Emmelie pronounces "teardrops" a bit weird, something like "tirdraps". Is it only me?
