They're gonna play the "Hot Mr Sweetface you'd eat if you could" card!

i mean if the fans don't know how to deal with disagreement and retreat into echo chambers then the people who don't like it as much just have nothing to say =)

His performance was not really good, and the problem is he hasn't convinced me he is singer at all, because all his songs are like this, talking more than singing style.

Looks like some Russian singer got inspired by Mikolas' song :)

Well, looks like Mikolas was inspired by Jason Derulo, too. He is not really original himself, and no, I don't hate this song ( it is in my top 10, but I wouldn't like it to win, no way), but it is nothing special and original. Video ripoff from Liam Payne, trumpet part from Hey, mamma ( they had sax, I know, but looks kinda similar). Maybe both of them had Derulo as inspiration. :D

I'm not feeling the overblown schoolboy look he's been going for lately. I'm aware I'm not part of the targeted audience of the whole package to begin with, yet I think he should at least ditch his backpacks. Is that supposed to look cool? xshrug

I'm not fond of his dance moves either... But I remain curious to see what they're gonna do on stage. xthink

Yeah, there are many similarities with the Jason Deluro song, however this russian guy almost completely ripped off Mikolas' song, his dance moves too! :D So not comparable.
You could also say that most of the entries in Eurovision are not original, almost all of the stuff you hear in ESC has been done outside of it already :)
I think Mikolas' song is at least somewhat original within the Eurovision space - I really cannot think of many (if any) songs like this in the past Eurovisions.
And I disagree completely with the trumpet being rip off of Hey Mamma's sax - completely different "hook" and type of instrument.

I think the schoolboy look will work better than if he were to go with a douche look. He plans to have 2 dancers on stage so I think the overall feel of the performance will be much better than when he is dancing alone somewhat awkwardly on an empty stage. :)

They're aiming at youth with this performance tbh. Trendy outfits, he's looking like a gorgeous teenager and that's somehow, what this kind of audience is expecting from him I guess.

Hence his scoring will honestly be much higher than we all assume at this moment. The staging, the outfits, the whole package is going to appeal to viewers. That's for sure.

He keeps repeating, that in that backpack is actually some surprise connected with performance on Eurovision. He said:"Maybe it is something, you will see, maybe not, who knows." So I don't know if he is trolling us, or he is serious. I think he will do well, pre-teen and teen girls and boys are already in some kind of histery for him, top 3 or 5 in televote, 99 % sure. :D  Juries- around 6th-9th place maybe, maybe higher.

It really just comes across as a very pretentious look. That kinda cliché highschool douchebag look. It kinda puts me off the song when watching him perform like that.

Same here, I liked the song more, before I saw him acting like school douchebag or fuckboy. He seems pretentious, acts like he is already a winner, and I am not that much older than him, and I don't find him extraordinary hot or interesting. He looks average good to me, nothing special, to get in histery and vote for him like crazy. :D

Yeah, I don't mean to criticize him as a person. It's rather the character he plays on stage that doesn't entice me either.

No doubt they'll go all out in this direction, since many people seem to like it that way. And maybe it opens interesting perspectives staging-wise for them as it's pretty certain no one else will sport that style. Having a defined look somehow helps people to identify and remember you, I just wish his were more likeable as you say. But I don't judge, each to their own, and people probably find it cool.

Yes, it really seems that people not only love that style, but truly adore it, world gone crazy for Mikolas' pretty face and that style of highschool bad boy. :D

So this is a song that's in a genre I normally despise, and if I heard it in the radio I'd turn it off in the blink of an eye and hope I'd never hear it again... But in the lovely Eurovision season psychosis most of us goes through these days I can't not dig it  I smile like an idiot whenever it comes on. It sticks out in a really good way in the contest, I think Mikolas is a very talented and charming artist and I just love the lyrics! Just like Israel it manages to include just the right touch of humor without sacrificing the hit song for comedy's sake. I have a feeling the juries might hurt this song really hard (like Poland in 2014) , but of course it's going to be Czechia's best result yet and a top 10 finish is the worst I see it doing. With an okay jury score I think it's top 3 material. Not a personal favorite really, not sure it's even in my top 15 of songs this year, but that's probably just me and the genre clashing still. It deserves to do really well - :7: points

I still think Bulgaria will win, but if Bones turns out to be too edgy for the public then I think Czech Republic will win. I remember when I first heard this song and I was completely addicted to this song (I'm now slightly less addicted :D). I'm pretty sure the song will have a similar impact on the general public. Top 3 in the televote for sure. I don't see why juries should punish this too hard, it's contemporary and a potential radio hit, right up their alley. At the very worst this will be 5th overall.

I think :cz: definitely has a chance to win, although if :il: nails the performance (and Netta's performance in Amsterdam was better than the one in Israel Calling) then there is no way :cz: or :bg: stand a chance IMO. I also think that :au: might be very high with the juries but I don't know about the televote. Also it depends on the running order as well.

i came here to say i think a surprise NQ seems more and more possible because he is apparently unable to sing this song 100% live and transmits none of the charisma of the video

and then i come here to people discussing his chances of... winning the entire contest?

as seth meyers and amy poehler once said, REALLY? HUH

I like the song, the problem is I don't like his behavior on stage, and his singing style, if I even can call it like that, because it is like talking for me. Talk and just talk. And even though I like the song, I would not like this to win, it is not original enough and nothing special for victory. I am amazed that fans are mad about this song, because we already heard Talk Dirty To Me, 2 or 3 years ago, it was so popular back then, that I wonder what makes this song so interesting. I think the main thing about his entry and its popularity is his beauty, I guess.

Same here. Liked the song more when I didn't see the live performances. It might Show some individuality, but it actually turns me off. :?

If this is a winning candidate then Eurovision has a problem, I don't get the appeal, it sounds like a homemade budget Justin Timberlake that is 5 years too late. Surely it's not the worst thing in this ESC, and I think Czech deserve to qualify and also deserve their best position yet, but a winning candidate? I dread how next year would sound like if this one would win...
