It could be this year's "Bosnia 2012". Alot of people dismissed that song's chances of even qualifying to the final because it was more of a subtle ballad than one of those typical "big" ESC ballads, but it did decently good considering all.

I much prefer this type to those overly, often shallow, Disney-ish "dramatic" ballads we tend to get.
You forget something about qualifying of Bosnia 2012 and Cyprus 2013.
Bosnia last year had in the same semi Serbia,Croatia,Fyrom,Slovenia,Turkey.

No, I'm very well aware of that... but still it was dismissed nevertheless. I remember more people guessing Croatia and Slovenia making it than Bosnia (we all were guessing which one of the ex-Yugos in that semi that would NOT make it).

I was sure about Bosnia, and i dont tell it now, that we know the result.
Bosnia had a very good draw (second from last) and many friends.
In other hand,we don't know where the producers will put Cyprus in the running order,
and Cyprus doesn't have even Greece!

Well, I don't even remember Bosnia's starting-number now...

We'll see, I know the situation differs I just compared the entries a bit.

It's a decent song. It seems nice, but honestly I don't see it doing well at all. And it is a disappointment, giving that she is a confident and experienced singer and performer. She does lift the song, but it is too vague. Right now it screams like a bottom 2, with probably UK, Italy and Serbia voting for it. I could be wrong. I want Cyprus to do well again, yet this looks so much to the Belgian entry from last year. :| Perhaps the draw will help her. Maybe Bjorkman will put her last.
I heard that Austria picked a ballad as well (haven't heard it) and also Belgium has one (haven't heard that one either, with many people claiming it's terrible), so hopefully not many others will pick one. 16 countries, Cyprus in with a shot, but for now it just says bottom 2. :|

I think this song could actually do a Maya Sar in 2013 (bosnia 2012). Nice, lovely, sweet song, some say a bit boring, others will begin to see it as a litle classy, never very much discussed or talked about, but ending up in the left side of the scoreboard in the final.

I give it 6 points

Most people give it 8 or 3 points.
Those who give it 8 find it sweet song.
Those who give it 3 find it boring song.

Maya's song was one of the most authentic songs last year.
Unfortunatly it was a bit shadowed by a weird looking performance...
This is just boring!xcrazyxcrazyxcrazy

What do you mean authentic? You mean the others were sort of phoney? All of them, is it?...
You're thinking of Euphoria, right?

Maya's song was beautiful. And yes, very authentic. Meaning that she sang it beautifully. The song was written by her husband and think it touched her very personally.

And yes, she is better!

Korake ti znam was a gem, delicate and sweet... I thought it would get higher but it was overshadowed by Nje ljubav stvar.
This is just another ballad. it's sad because I like songs in greek, but there is nothing that catch attention here...

The best comparison is with Bosnia & Herzegovina 2012, it's a lullaby-ish ballad with a sweet voice. Both Maya and Despina have very sweet voices. For people who like this genre, I think they find both songs very well representative of it. For people who don't enjoy such songs, it's immediately labeled as "boring". I remember similar reactions for Bosnia last year.

This is just your opinion. I find both songs in the same level personally and none of them is more original than the other. The fact that you like the one and find the other boring doesn't change this.

In fact, I think it aimed at looking like more "Kuula" with the anaphoron of "An me thimase". Plus it's a desperate love song.

I think, it should be revamped, because what annoys me is the composition. It sounds like a early-'00s ballad. I think it can be re-worked to sound more modern and more subtle. It made me think instantly of our Hélène Ségara.

Where did this Maya comparison come from? (to add my 2c to the argument, 'Korake' struck me from the first time, and the instrumental was amazing, and I'm still not into this one but that's all I can say).

After a few listens, this is a good song but it still doesn't excite me. Maybe with a better arrangement... more 'traditional'... I don't know? The Maya comparison is tarnishing my opinion I guess!

Thanks for the enlightenment CypriotGirl.
you really can't trust everything you read on the internet...

You can't trust anything you read anywhere period.

A critical, logical and rational mind is always needed... always double check facts with different sources.

And well, wikipedia is hardly the most trustworthy source either.

I don't know what to think of this song. I'm trying to like it, but sadly i do not...
Cyprus always has a soft spot in my heart, but i'm afraid that 2013 is just not Cyprus' year in ESC.
Despina is a great singer, i love her voice and i strongly believe that she will give her best in order to deliver a good vocal performance.
That being said, i think Cyprus' chances to qualify to the Grand Final are quite slim, but u never know...
