I loved that entry from Cyprus, it was one my favourites from the 2011 lot. I thought the singer was quite exceptionally good, very laid back. not exactly what one is used to in ESC which was a plus. The staging was gorgeous and very dramatic, suiting the song well, but somehow the camera work didn't do it full justice and it didn't come across at its best.
I was so very sorry that it didn't progress to the final. My heart still aches for it, when I think about it

(It was not an instant song, though. You had to listen to it several times before you really loved it. Maybe that's what killed it...)

Neither people in televoting or juries found it good,

A position in ESC doesn't say much about a song's quality...

Music is about subjective taste. Just because something isn't universally liked, doesn't necessarily mean it's bad... it depends on taste.

Well, I was disapointed with the camera work, it was a bit messy and made the whole thing come across as somehow over the top. At the time, I had watched the videos of the rehearsals and it all had looked beautifully creative and at place.
Still, I said the song wasn't instant and that might have been the real reason for its failing.

It was a dark, moody song anyway, not exactly everyone's cup of tea.

San anggelos s'agapisa wasn't a very good song. It began as a cool ballad and then, after a shouting girl, it turns to rock we don't know why.
Christos Mylordou was the worst singer of that year selection, so that nobody could understand why he was chosen. Then, they put him in the middle of boys wearing the same clothes as him, so that people who don"t follow Eurovision all year long could have passed all the song not knowing who of them was Christos !

And there was this strange man dancing Macarena. And this shouting girl with a ball... All this performance was a huge nonsense... They did something on the purpose of attracting attention in the place of delivering emotions. Then, we watched all that scenery asking ourselves what the **** was going on... So, it turned ridiculous and everybody laughed at watching it...

That's the story of S'an anggelos s'agapisa...

Nice... but not very exciting. Generic is the term, toinou03 must have been in the right place after all, lol.
Things are looking better for Norway everyday. Not so good for us ESC fans though.

It's not bad, but it's quite ordinary. The refrain is catchy, but the verses are quite boring and flat. I think Despina deserved something much better. This will not stand out, I'm afraid.

Yes, it was what I listened to !

It's nice and all, but very generic and quite dated... Add to that Cyprus has no friend in the 1st semi, it means it will be very very harsh for Love island to qualify !

It's nice overall, but I expected more. This is not powerful ballad, it's a sweet song but it's quite boring for ESC and I'm afraid we will stay in the semi. Except if they make a good stage presentation (something like Finland 2012 comes to mind, but that song failed too)
