A song with ethnic elements,does not mean necessary it would be good.
I prefer a good song without ethnic elements,rather than a mediocre song with ethnic elements (for example cypriot entry 2011)
Sure, but a song
without it doesn't mean it's better either right?... so your logic falls on itself. A good song is a good song regardless of the elements it has (ethnic or non-ethnic). So what's the fault in wishing for an ethnic sounding song then? Is it somehow better to wish for the opposite? How would you know the song will be good
without such elements may I ask? We're all having our own wishes here and want the best of course... no matter if you prefer ethnic or not
A power ballad doesn't really sound promising on paper because it's not really a genre I like, however I tend to like ethnic ballads so naturally I'd wish for the latter based on my taste... with that said I don't say it'll directly be good because it's ethnic (just as it won't be directly good if it's non-ethnic either).
Oh because Cyprus 2009-2010 were good?? I beg to differ... I'd take 2011 anyday over those crap entries.
It all comes down to taste. I think there's some sort music snobb-ism going on in here... none of us have heard the entry, but yet somehow it's better to have one sort of taste than the other...
If people wish for a power ballad without ethnic elements then it's up to them, I would prefer with ethnic elements... but let's all hear the song first before dismissing... until then we can all just wish based on our own preferences.
