And we have less than 30 countries !
What a disaster !!!
We'll just have a final featuring 29 countries
I guess at least Russia, Italy, Albania will join eventually. And they'll call Australia to increase the final number 
Romania, Portugal, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia should stay as well.

I'll add Georgia and Armenia. I really can't imagine them withdrawing.

As was implied by the surprise Czech return last year, we don't have a complete list of the countries who've applied for provisional participation. It still could go up; I'm pretty sure we have fewer definite "no"s than we did at this time last year.

Ukraine didn't say a word yet, even in the Russian Facebook - VK.com here are no news about it.

Yeah, I'm being cautiously optimistic at the moment. There are certainly plenty of countries in doubt, but given that it seems we should have a return from Turkey and Ukraine, some small chances from a few others (Bulgaria/Croatia etc.), and there are no confirmed withdrawals from last year, I'm hoping that we'll see over 40 countries again next year.
It's not definitive yet, no. Generally there are one or two countries who put in a tentative submission only to withdraw it later (Bulgaria and Bosnia/Herzegovina last year). Those countries who withdraw tend to be the ones who are trying to return, rather than those who participated last year - a withdrawing country will generally just state that it's withdrawing, or not put in a submission at all. Case in point - neither Bulgaria nor Bosnia/Herzegovina, the late withdrawals from last year, had participated in 2014.

You're likely right, but I feel like our withdrawal from the ABU was going to happen at around this time regardless of any Eurovision participation. Interest has only continued to decline in the ABU here - from memory it was broadcast on TV for the first year, broadcast online for the second, and not broadcast at all outside of some snippets/recaps for the third year - so it's not impossible that the two things are unrelated. It's certainly one more piece of evidence towards a Eurovision return, though.

Usually it goes in the other direction (late-stage confirmation), but last-minute withdrawal does happen.
Bosnia & Herzegovina and Bulgaria are especially concerning; they aren't confirmed completely until their semifinal banner shows.

I think in 2014 Bulgaria and Serbia both announced their withdrawal on the final day, it is hopefully the case that the remaining countries have all applied, but are waiting until they have made a final decision to announce it.

ESC after the current developments will not have a great charm .The 'Old Lady ' is a hypocrite . Look at Hungary and what they are working on their borders, and the attitudes of Czechs ..... I do not see the singing and bringing people together in this way . The hypocrisy of the EU !!!
