He is just too beautiful! I love his voice and the song is decent. The hook is great! It just ruins it for me how close it is to Lorde's music. 7 points for now.

For those that like the weirdness of Loïc's song and the unusual accompanying video...

xheat

The two artists are nothing alike, but for some reason i'm just reminded of the brilliant music and artistry of Perfume Genius when I listen to Loïc's song and watch the video. I really was wrong to prejudge. He clearly has something special. I think he might have been put in front of our eyes too early as an artist. I blame these ridiculous talent shows. He's someone I think who could have benefited from a few more years building himself up. That teenage stage in life is a difficult and embarrassing one. I look back at the things in my life and cringe. He's finding himself and what we have in front of us is someone I feel now is all over the place, but with this song, his brilliance shines through. Miraculously i'm looking past his ridiculous over-enthusiasm that could come across as desperate and forced. There is someone brilliant here and I was dreadfully judgemental of him at first, when this is just a young guy trying really hard. He seems so passionate and I feel bad now for my criticism of him because i've learnt there is something about him I admire:(

Very interesting situation, from Belgium i expected very little and I git A LOT! :)

From Czech Republic I expected a lot, but I'm disappointed!

This is GREAT, so different, fresh, composition is fantastic.. :)

BUT.... This really needs a good performance. I can see this doing very well, but this song with a bad live could be really painful to listen and flop so badly.
I feel the same, it's the type of song where the live performance is either great or terrible. Seeing the interview, I can say that he seems pretty empathic. It's not a strong song, so the chemistry with the audience will measure a lot. If he has this capacity, he may expect a good place. I know some are put down by the fact that he's very young, but in a way I find this even more interesting, the paradox is that it adds a bit of charm. If it were someone older, I would feel it as a tired attempt of seducing the viewer with fine words. But seeing him singing them, it's a great impact.

I'm not sure what to think about this song. I didn't find it particularly strong on the first listening, but then I found myself having the "RaPaPap" parts stuck in my head!

It shows we should never assume things:p I was expecting this to be one of the worst songs of the year and it's turned out one of the best, and certainly something that is very interesting. I just had to wrap my head around the artist and throw away my prejudice. I suppose when I listened to it for the first time, I knew it was something good but I was still holding on to my dislike of his previous material, and the fact I really didn't like what i'd heard of his voice before. I still think he has a really rough voice, and he hasn't matured properly yet, but I like his spirit that he has now. He's really wild, passionate and young. I think that does leave him open to showing any of his flaws as a vocalist.

Hungary 2013 was the ultimate Eurovision hipster song, and strangely enough their 2015 song as well I think will be quite a magnet (more so for those without a strong grasp of English, to be able to tell just how nauseating the whole thing is). This is just slightly weird pop here for Belgium. There is not a plaid shirt, beard or thick rimmed, lensless pair of glasses in sight.

A beard is hipster nowadays?

*Pronunciation point HELLO*

Loïc is : Lo-ik (Lo-ek /or low-ik but a tiny tiny "w") usually the ï is more like an y (as it is in why) but for that common french name it's just a french i (like e in english)

I was happy for the little snippet earlier this afternoon but i do like the entry of my country this year. I'm really proud of the rtbf, they definitely have the "eurovision taste" now and if we don't win this year, I think we might take the trophy during the next years with an other different song, more well produced and more eurovision-like. We still miss some songs for now, but if they give him a strong stage performance i think he could be in the top 10 (and of course, i wish more for my country, top 5 maybe?).

If you type hipster into google image search, you'll get hundreds of pictures of very similar looking men with thick rimmed glasses, in their plaid shirts, sporting giant beards.

I wish I could grow a full beardxcry1

Same :( But I am a fan of the plaid shirt myself so I guess I'm a third of the way...

You love Iceland which I consider to be the devil's spawn this year, so I believe we are even........ oh, but I like Finland as well which you despise... hmmmm could you start loving one of the Hungarian, Dutch or Lithuanian entries perhaps?

I kinda like Lithuanian. It's not a big love, it's just an ok song for me. And I like both: Iceland and Finland.
