^^

Tom is (almost) impossible because he is really not that famous in Walloon and the RTBF chooses:(

That's possible. He is the winner of RTBF's The Voice Belgique.

Blog about Roberto Bellarosa possibly representing Belgium next year

READ HERE

Another Tom Dice type of entry here we go... *yawn*

However this song is better than Dice's which I still don't understand the appeal of...

Re: BELGIUM 2013

Given the lack of Belgian talent—or the lack of artists willing to risk a similarly embarassing placement—RTBF finds itself in a tough position.

How rude! It's indeed more the lack of artists willing to represent us than the 'lack of Belgian talent'.

And I think if the RTBF chooses internally it will be Roberto Bellarosa. I love 'Je crois'!

Hmm actually at first sight, I would like this choice, altough it's not really what I want to represent us.

But ok

1) He is good looking
2) He has a good voice
3) He has experience

So why not

Well, good lucks, nice voice and whatever experience doesn't count for nothing if the song isn't good.

If it's something like "Je crois", it could be an ok choice I think... but if it's something like "Me and my guitar" it's a big fat no for me atleast.

Re: BELGIUM 2013

2008 was a wild copycat of that amazing 2003 song :(

The only thing it copied was the fake language, other than that 2008 was a cute little gem wheres 2003 was a pretty awful song imo. Funny how opinions can be totally opposite.

Imo Belgium sent only 3 good entries throughout the 00's-10's so far: 2004, 2006 and 2008. Ironically all being chosen by the VRT. Even the only success of the past 10 years for Belgium (Tom Dice) was a VRT pick (although I personally dislike that entry). The last RTBF pick I liked was Melanie Cohl in 1998.

I agree. The flemish audience was just misled by the success of 2003.
In the beginning I tought, oow yes could be a new Sanomi.
But if you compare it was totally different.
The performance of Urban Trad was amazing, whereas Ishtar had an ok performance..

Let for example Patrick Ouchene (Copycat 2009) sing Me and my guitar in the same way Tom did, he would never be 6th.
Altough I dislike people voting for good looks, you can't deny it too

Haha, I wrote "lucks" instead of "looks"... anyways my point got through nevertheless.

I know good looks are important aswell, I just meant that a song doesn't become better or worse based on it.

Re: BELGIUM 2013

I personally didn't really like 'Me and My Guitar', but the performance was truly AWESOME!! Respect! 2008 was awfull imo. I prefer 'Sanomi' over 'O Julissi'. 'Sanomi' was fresh and something new.

If it's not Roberto Bellarosa, maybe Renato Bennardo (also from The Voice Belgique) makes a chance :).

Here's Bellarosa's clip:
