Alekseev is the only one who has a bit chances t qualify, so let them all withdraw.
And you base that on what? His supposed entry for ESC is unknown so far, in the selection he will sing a song that is not eligible and could win just based on his name, wheres everyone else prepared entries to actually compete with
Not that hes my favourite in this Selection (Shuma is), but after all I read on diverse platforms, really noone wants someone else than him. Noones gona miss Sofi, thats how it is. In the End, its decided before it started.
And after all I read, His Management says that he sang another Version in another (belarussian?) language, so it must be the same case like with Jamala back then. Dont know if its finally decided that he MUST change the entry really.
I mean, as far as artist goes, he might very well be the one with the biggest chance (he has a big team behind him, is known to big stages, is a decently known name in ex-USSR), but that still doesn't make the farce of selection any more right? I mean what's the point for others to compete now, he doesn't even have to follow the rules of eligibility? And if they don't care about the entries, why have acts enter eligible entries then? People will vote for the name regardless (if the vote will be fair that is) and get a complete different song in the end.
Yes, I just read that its 100% official that he Must change the Song, so that makes the thing not easier. I was a bit too late.
But on the other side, Sofi who admitted that she (and probably others) spent money for Sim-Cards to distribute among Fans, is the last one who has to talk about fairness.
In the End we all know that he would win the TV anyway, nomatter with which song, so nothing changes about the fact that Sofi wont go to Lisbon.
"According to ESCKAZ sources, BTRC will likely allow entry of Alekseev - Forever to compete in the national final of Belarus for the Eurovision 2018. At the same time, in case of his victory at the national tour, broadcaster will likely insist on replacement entry for the same singer.""For the role of songwriter of the new contest entry of Alekseev will likely be invited well-known foreign composer and producer. It is quite possible that similarly to the case of Koldun - it will be Philipp Kirkorov and his Dream Team."
Would that be really necessary? OMG, I hope it's not true. Enough with 'em already!
Yuck this "horror team" again... is that the new Kempe/G:son of ESC?
I begin to think drama is how Belarusians promote their national selection abroad.
Please no, he isn't Belarusian, and Ukranian phonetics are quite different. Skrypka tried singing in Belarusian during one of the concerts. I applaud and respect him for effort but it was atrocious. He tried too hard and overcompensated. On the other end of spectrum Kobzon, who doesn't give a flying F and just uses Russian pronunciation for Belarusian words. Even worse.I think it's already decided to send Alekseev. First of all, he must improve his vocals and English. Secondly, I think song should be sung in Russian or Belorusian, then he will not have to work on his accent. They shouldn't change the entry, this one is completely fine, with good show it should look very impressive.
Again, I must note... so far I hate his vocals. I always struggled to watch his live performances. Lazarev was 100 times better by this criteria. And Alekseev fails to perform basic notes correctly. I have no idea how he participated in Voice with such vocal problems.
Funny you should say that... Idk if that has been brought up here... but compare the chorus. It does a smidgen actually, which is strange because wasn't that composed by Swedes? "Forever" feels very familiar melodically. I like contemporary music coming from eastern European countries much more than what the west brings at the moment. I can imagine Loboda singing something like "Forever". It's such high quality electropop. Ditch the English and I think i'll be 100% behind this song as an entry. I like it more with each listen.
