If you paid attention to iTunes charting, Austria was performing really well, probably in the top 3/4 of songs after semifinals. Juries maybe thought this was a radio-friendly song, and who knows if they pay attention to things like this. The song also had a similar vocal to last year's "Don't Come Easy" which also was well-liked by the jury. I'm not shocked at all, and genuinely happy the juries rated this highly.

Juries was made after Charlotte Perreli's fail to boost in results. Actually youtube showed that sweden will do bad....semifinal 2 videos shows it... slovenia and serbia had more views than sweden... so i was sure that he will flop in televote...but didnt knew that it will be so bad ... 21p ? Sad that they didnt recorded Benjamins reaction

This messy voting makes me conflicted. From one side is exciting, from the other is just a big mess... like there's not a ''Winner'' but just some act that won in the night (happy for tho)

Austria did still better in the televote than many favourites: Sweden, Australia, Hungary (my personal favourite), Bulgaria, France - all predicted at one point to win or at least Top 5.

Only 33 points behind Estonia in the televote.

Austria is probably the country with the least automatic televotes, 71 points is actually one of the best televote results so far. Only Conchita, Alf Poier and Zoe did better than that.

All those 75 points for Serbia or the 119 points for Ukraine are automatic points from neighbours and diaspora.

Anyways, we were not edgy or exciting enough for more televotes, I respect that. But we had a perfect package of voice, show and relevance, that the jury appreciated.

I am happy that the juries are here, because if not, we would not contend at all anymore. Out in 2008 and never coming back.

Ukraine had a certain appeal, but also was a hot mess. The staging was a circus act, the national final act looked way better. And the English was not comprehensible, and the comprehensible parts made no sense at all.

juries vote for what they think is current, hipster-ish or has some quality into it, better it's produced, the best it will rank. Austria fits that mold but televote is more about having a connection with a song, they had emotion with Portugal and they had fun with Israel.

I was having a hard time to understand how the jury voted in the past, but now it became so clear and I understand way better how they put Sweden 1st in 2015, Australia in 2016. It's just about it is produced, uptempo or midtempo or a ballad or ethnic, they don't care, it's just the production, the current-ness, the quality of composition. We could say that jury is more technical while televote is more feeling

I can say the same about a half of this year's entries who sounded worse at the jury show.
And after they gave Jamala 17 0's I'd say they are biased against my country. Justify it with taste or anti-political crap - I won't change my opinion. Some Western officials used to make really scandalous sayings about my nationality (yes, nationality... against other Easterners too) so what else am I supposed to expect from them? Is that professional? 1 of them is gone for good but his successor is his best friend (not talking about the UK) ... it can last for decades, lol.

The juries did a terrible job this year. Not only did they rob some good songs, but what is more disgustig that it seems to be a put-up-job to push Sweden and Australia, like every year.
It also shows that juries just vote for what is high in the odds. They are completely useless. Please get rid off them!
They always chose safe songs that are in the top 10 odds. This is very biased - something juries should NOT do!

The fact that CYP Jury gave 0 pts to ISR and ISR Jury gave 0 pts to CYP is all the proof you need to have to understand how stupid it is to have those 5 glorified idiots from each country.
