Nigeria - South Korea 1-0

What a great goal! Nigeria has played very well so far and it's clear to see how much they want to advance to the next stage. I still have a feeling though that Nigeria might do some stupid mistakes later on if they come under too much pressure by South Korea.

Can't believe I'm gonna say this, but I really feel sorry for France :(
They have so many great and talented players, but need a new coach.

Nigeria - South Korea 1-1

Greece - Argentina 0-0

As it looks now South Korea and Argentina are moving on to the knock-out stage. Everything can still happen in 2nd half though. :p

France totally deserved to be eliminated. They were only good in the beginning, but after the red card, everything began to collapse like a deck of cards. South Africa played quite well too, so it was a deserved victory. Now I hope Domenech will fly away from the French bench (hey, it rhymes  ) finally! Uruguay and Mexico deserved to go through.

Greece played quite well, but it seems they will still lose in the end :( Nigeria indeed missed one of those "100% chances".......maybe even the biggest miss of the world cup so far! Looks like it will end as a tie.

These games today really made my day. After my two faves in group 1 qualified in the better order, this now happens in group 2. Argentina won their third match with 2-0 and are the winners of the group. The 2nd team to advance is South Kore because that tie with Nigeria (2-2) means another point and they have in total 4, while Greece has 3 and Nigeria - 1 which they won in this last match.

Nigeria - South Korea 2-2

Aw I feel sorry for Nigeria :( . This was the most entertaining match for quite a while (in a bad way though). I was almost laughing in some parts at the miserable play we saw today.

I've never felt so entertained before at this WC. I couldn't help smiling at how Nigeria played in most parts of the match. Miserable defence, lots of missed chances, but some great individual performances. Nigeria really improved when Martins made his entrance. I'm gonna miss them. I was hoping that they could somehow score in the last minute.

That also means that the 2nd African team is eliminated

South Korea didn't convince me in this match. Their defence was horrible just like Nigeria's, and they will certainly have their ass kicked in their match against Uruguay.

I feel sorry for Nigeria. They really owned the Koreans and should have qualified to the 1/8-finals. Korea - Uruguay an 1/8-final game!??  Now England must push forward a lot so they can grab the first place in the group.
Argentina wasn't impressing today. At least I wasn't too happy from what I saw. Lucky for them Samaras was clumsy, otherwise it would have been 2-0 for Greece. Anyway, they have 9 out of 9 and will hit Mexico just like in 2006. That will surely be a good game. :)
And I don't feel sorry for France. In fact I was sure that they will not go through. They played poorly through the qualifiers, didn't deserve to pass through Ireland and this is the outcome. Interesting fact is that this was the second official game between France and South Africa. The first was played in France in the 1998 WC and France won 3-0, while today in South Africa it was 2-1 for the host.

My predictions for tomorrow:
England - Slovenia 2:0, England should win this game and go through. I believe 2 goals will be enough for them to be first in the group
USA - Algeria 2:1, this could be tied as well. I'm sure Algerians will have a lot of motivation to play against the Americans.
Germany - Ghana 2:0, Right now I hope it will be the other way round. I don't know how will Germany play without Klose though. Ghana impressed me and I want them to go through.
Serbia - Australia 1:1 I have a hunch that Serbia may underestimate Australia like they did against Ghana, but we'll see.

It has been in the Daily Mirror today that when the BBC has screened matches, England has been victorious 66% of the time whilst on ITV only 30% of the time. This is our first match on BBC so I am hoping for something gooood!! :D :D :D :D
