💛 Trivia of the day 💛

Hello guys, this post was originally destined for updates about the ongoing rehearsals: Hildegard von Blingin' (Oussou Empire), BLACKPINK & Selena Gomez (Kimmystan), Erika Vikman (Moisantia) and Tim Chadwick (Tamausia & Deltannor) all rehearsed this morning. Vikman had a wardrobe malfunction and I heard her say she will change her outfit for her second rehearsal. Regarding BLACKPINK, there were lots of talks about the camera work, apparently there were too many wide shots and the angles did not do justice to the mood of their entry.

-

Today should have seen a special announcement regarding the Tybaltevan representative. The whole team had waited for the music video - recently shot in Kralingslæting, Griffin Empire - to present our next participant, but it seems the director lost most of the scenes during the editing process, so the announcement is postponed until a solution is found.

-

No, what overshadowed everything else today is the news that came out late last night.

Kamandéan broadcaster KAOS 1 twitted they were considering participating in the current edition. I received the application by mail myself and it seems all the documents and information required were provided... I really don't know what to think of this tbh.

Here is the entry they officially submitted: a 14-minute song called "A Theater of Dimensions" by Kamandéan metal band "Xandria".

But it is not I who decides what to think or do, my superiors will call the TYBC director and our King will be informed.

The media already took on the subject and they have decided what that move meant before our institutions even examined the news.

PenBv7b.jpg

This an uncomfortable situation for us Tybaltevans: by law, Kamandéans are banned from entering our country and the current political atmosphere between our respective leaders isn't the best, as you can tell.

And yet, the news has spread like wildfire, so we will have to take a stand: either we allow them to take part to comply with the contest's rules and our King's influence will suffer a major blow both internationally and within our borders, OR we do prevent them from joining somehow but there are no official means to do so in the WLSC regulations. Not to mention international pressure would be ruthless.

Whatever happens, it will be unprecedented. I already sense it will make a splash.

-

Neither Ernman nor her government have issued an official statement about the whole situation, yet lots of Tybaltevan internet users think one of her last tweets is cynical mocking directed at us. I will let you all judge by yourselves.

Kamandé will be added to the provisional list of confirmed countries until our leaders speak about the matter.

Here is what I could tell you about that as of now, the only certain thing is: to be continued...

Sincerely yours,

:giggle: Tuorem :giggle:

@Zonne147 @Himan @Romeo @Milos-BC @ferret @Veronika @marc Tomorrow night, the confirmation phase will end, don't forget to send your application if you want to take part in the current edition. :)

💛 Trivia of the day 💛

The third day of rehearsals is going well so far: Erdem Kınay & Merve Özbey (Effiland) and the Tybaltevan representative have done their job this morning, we are waiting for Roseland's delegation to arrive in a couple of hours. ;)

Today's trivia will be quick because everyone (me included) is very busy at TYBC right now.

I spotted a brand new giant ad next to the city hall when I had lunch with Randajad, take a look:

Let me zoom in

Except for the man I don't recognise in the middle, it is featuring past Tybaltevan representatives, from left to right: Lorie (first Tybaltevan winner ever, won WLSC 194), Melanie C (first Tybaltevan representative, finished second, won recently for Moisantia), Miley Cyrus (second Tybaltevan winner who brought the contest home) and Cascada (Solentoyan group who represented us, finished second).

On fan forums, some believe this is just a mere ad to remind people of our achievements in WLSC, others assume it might be the list of guests and interval acts to perform on Saturday. It is unclear to me. And I am not sure who that man is either, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Anyway, it is safe to say we'll see Miley at least. I like the ambiguous use of the word "party" there (party as a social gathering, but also party as a team).

That's it! I told you it would be quick today! I have tons of things to do, have a nice day ya'll! xheart

Sincerely yours,

:giggle: Tuorem :giggle:

The lunch was incredible, the flavour was immaculate! I’ve never tasted anything like this before. 10/10 for Tybaltevan cuisine! xheat

The Pyreican government decided to stay neutral in this international affair. Tybalteva and Kamandé are two of our most important economical partners, we wish to not partake in this unfortunate war and hope these nations find peace quickly.

On another note, keep the trivia coming, they make my day

💛 Trivia of the day 💛

Hi guys, I hope you're having a great day so far. :)

I've been working so much lately that I'm barely able to follow everything that's going on right now.

-

The first set of second rehearsals have started already, while our latest participants, namely The Pussycat Dolls (Roseland), Hurts (Szimbaya Kingdom) and Holly Valance (Il-Bidu) will have their own time slots later this afternoon and in the evening.

-

Allow me to remind you that the confirmation phase ends tonight at midnight CET. Past that deadline, any application will be discarded. Regarding the allocation draw (meant to divide nations into halves), the ceremony is to take place tomorrow morning at 8am but it will not be broadcasted. So I'll report on it in the afternoon (please bear with me!)

-

I forgot to give you an update about the ticket sales. The final sold out in a heartbeat, so many people fell back on the dress rehearsals and the jury show, but the website crashed two times in the course of the week, which forced the organisers and the arena to open a physical ticket desk. As a result, many Tybaltevans and foreign tourists already on site came to buy the remaining tickets available.

Here is a picture I took one hour ago, don't mind the weather, it's cloudy but it's not expected to last.

Inspired by the Svobodnian promotion the last time they hosted, both the press center and the arena will sell special merchandising about the participating countries. The designs haven't been made public yet, but save up just in case! ;)

-

Also, I will report on the opening ceremony to take place tomorrow evening. I'll attend the red carpet, take a few pictures for you and then enter the House of Alchemists for the rest of the night since I have a special pass. I can already tell you there will be a cocktail reception first with some guests playing music, then there will be a dinner party where only artists, delegations and a few key people involved in the organisation (such as me) will be invited; finally, there will be a dancefloor for people to enjoy the moment until midnight. No one wants to go to sleep too late considering the live show will occur on Saturday.

Stay tuned for more information (that is: tomorrow)

Sincerely yours,

:giggle: Tuorem :giggle:

Oh I hope so too! Nassi's second rehearsal is to start at 22:15 tonight. I will keep you posted about it in my next trivia post. ;) Thank the Lord Kimmystan helps up to get the stagings right!

@tuorem once again, can I just congratulate you on the detail and immersion you are giving us with this hosting. Everything is amazing and it's really ramping up the excitement now for the show to come xup

Thank you Gary! xheart I am actually grateful for your kind feedback and likes. I mean it.
All these posts were not planned, but when the idea came to mind, I thought why not give it a try and see if you guys cared about some daily trivia while waiting for the show to start. If you have been entertained for a hot second, then it would have been worth it for me. :)

I seize this opportunity to thank all the members who "played the game" by posting additional storytelling coming from their respective countries, I appreciated the unexpected news flashes and reports.

I'm sure Arkodrë has sent a hot classic Solentoya summer bop if I remember correctly... xthink

Vente Pa' Ca has never been sent by us to a contest but it is a big hit here and Maluma has represented us at NSC.

Hi guys, the confirmation phase ended yesterday.

As a result, Banan and Rahasia-Diati - that participated in WLSC 203 - will miss this edition. However, Arkodrë, Belvist and New Bander State will join the party. xcheer welcome!

The definite number of countries as well as the allocation draw will come shortly. ;)

💛 Trivia of the day part 1/2 💛

Hi guys, for me this Friday is the definition of being busy o_O but I shouldn't let you down now, so here is the first part of today's trivia.

First, if @Milos-BC @FabiESC @marc could help me to find their respective flags, that would be appreciated as I don't find them anywhere :( thank you in advance

-

This morning at 8:00, the allocation draw ceremony took place at the city hall. Prime Minister Edyta Toblerova, the TYBC director, the heads of delegations, Miley Cyrus, the Mayor of Gatineau and I attended it. I will spare you the usual formal speeches, congratulations and boring rules, and will directly inform you about what you're really interested in. Please find below the result of the allocation executed by your dedicated hosts Emma Watson and Taeyeon.

Each country was picked out of a giant bowl and then randomly given a half, and then randomly given a quarter. We resorted to this procedure to ensure a fairer way of deciding on the running order, please note this is just the allocation draw giving you an idea of when each of you guys will perform, the actual starting position of each nation is to be confirmed by the TYBC.

If you have complaints about geopolitical fraud, I would suggest you to contact random.org :giggle: Don't shoot me!

Since 20 nations will take part, a break will naturally occur between the 10th and 11th participants.

The Prime Minister insisted several times on the number of participating countries in the course of the ceremony, and since no further information was provided, I didn't realise it had more importance than it seemed. The tweets she's just posted give you the answer.

I guess it is safe to assume that - certainly for the first time in the history of WLSC - a host nation rejected the participation of another based on motives that have nothing to do with a song that already competed in the contest, aka the only valid reason why a nation might be put aside. You'll form your own opinion about this news, personally I doubt the "safety" issue is the main reason behind that move, politics are! I guess the King was unyielding on that matter.

Therefore, WLSC 204 will feature 20 nations (not 21) since Kamandé is officially out. Case closed. :( Tybaltevans and Kamandéans will rejoice, but for the international community, it will be another story. The Crown will have to accept the impacts the decision might have on our nation, WLSC or not.

-

On another note, the dress rehearsal planned at 10:00 went smoothly, I was told Solentoyan representative Nassi no longer suffered the backdrop glitch that had to be fixed yesterday evening.

As for the jury show, it started one hour ago. Il-Bidu's representative Holly Valance did perform very professionally despite her mic remaining turned off for a minute or so... We organisers agreed to allow her to perform again at the end of the show and told the juries to disregard what just happened.

Damn, something's gotta happen at the worst moment! We will make sure nothing of the sort will arise tomorrow  We apologise profusely to the delegation of Il-Bidu.

-

Thank you for reading, that's it for now. Tonight, I will report on the opening ceremony, provided I make it in time!

Sincerely yours,

:giggle: Tuorem :giggle:
