Estonia borderline qualifier? Don't think so. After seeing all the rechearsals, ok 30 seconds of them, i'm pretty sure Estonia is a definite qualifier.

I think that we could be the shock non-qualifiers.
Think about it - we have few allies, actually only one, Finland, that we can rely on. The odds are drifting, poor rehearsal reviews etc.
It is possible.

Calm down. They've experienced some technical problems, but they were good and the reviews were not bad at all, I read some of them which were even excellent. I'm pasting one or two from well known bloggers to cheer you up! :p

I love it when I can see a plan coming together. Elina and Stig aren’t spending a lot of their 30 minutes on singing today, because they don’t need to. They’re spending an *enormous* amount of time on technical shenanigans though. I suspect that the excitingly Bondesque – yet static – silhouettes creating the show today are going to be convincingly live action Elina and Stig come Friday.

Sometimes you just get the sense that people are putting the work in because they’re trying to win. And while I still don’t mind Finland as a nice little finished article, dark horse, this is absolutely sitting at the top table. Will it win? It’s shaping up nicely. If this is 2010 coming back, then this is probably Manga’s first rehearsal.

I’m enthusiastic. I won’t ask for a Tallinn weather forecast quite yet though – this is the first option on the winner menu, there are other delicacies still to come, and we’ve already been to Tallinn anyway at this time of a different year. We *know* what the weather’s like.

Phil : This is class – John has not played this card enough but because it has just the right side of cold and annoyed between Stig and Elina that it makes you go “blimey, that’s really really good” – and it is…. This is, as has been said, the best thing that has been seen all day and it works so well its amazing. This will be given lots of points by lots of people… Bring on Tallinn???

I could go on :D

People are criticizing based on the 30-second snippet, but they don't realize that what will appear on the TV screens is not comparable at all. The camera work is key in this performance and that cannot be seen or judged in a snippet like the one provided on rehearsals!

Yes, that's what I keep saying, but people insist on having an opinion based on the micro snippets alone. I've even seen personal tops coming out of it, ffs! :D

This may not be the best year for music in Eurovision, but it seems that there aren't any no-hopers, which is a good sign isn't it?

Even songs like Moldova which are at the bottom of fan polls have some sort of fighting chance (for various reasons of course).

I am tired of defending this point of view too since yesterday! I just can't wait til tuesday comes around and people see how great the Estonian performance (hopefully) is.

Thank you, I probably am too negative :D
When Getter was the favourite in 2011, I was ready for a top 5 finish, but then it failed and I was so devastated.
That is probably the reason, it is better not to get my hopes up too much.

This may well be the most even semi ever. I think the overall quality is better in semi 2, but I can see any of the songs in semi 1 qualifying. No qualifyers will surprise me. There are 4-5 songs that would surprise me if they didn't qualify.

I'm pretty sure you can rely on the Netherlands as well. It's definitely our kind of music. =)

Final prediction before semi:

:am: :be: :fi: :gr: :ee: :hu: :ru: :dk: :al: :ge:

I'd also say :by:/:nl:/:rs:/:ro: instead of :fi:. But I just.. have to leave Finland in just because I have no clue about how it will do.

My final prediction before the event, in alphabetical order:
Albania
Belarus
Belgium
Estonia
Finland
Georgia
Greece
Hungary
Romania
Russia

A few wild horses, because the result is never 100 % what is expected.

Belarus: They made it with Cheesecake, so why not with this one. A potential 12 from Russia is a good base to build on.

Oh man, that brings back painful memories.
Getter Jaani "Rockefeller Street" - that song had everything that a song could possibly have to be perfectly entertaining and successful at the ESC.
And then...rank 24 out of 25. Predictions never ever failed so miserably.
I just could not believe it. And the pain was even worse because that boring Italian entry (Raphael Gualazzi or so) ended up on 2nd place.

What do people think who the jury winner could be in this semi final?
I think Estonia is the obvious favourite, but Greece and Belgium have chances too.

Hmm... I think there are quite a few juries in this semi that will rank Russia lower than they should for non-musical reasons. Therefore I believe they will do better in televoting, where there are no "minus points".

Since I voted for 13 countries I have to leave 3 more countries out and so my final prediction is...

:al::am::by::be::dk::ee::fi::ge::ro::ru:

So together with Macedonia, Moldova and The Netherlands maybe Hungary (sadly :() Greece and Serbie will fail. But everything can happen, also Macedonia and The Netherlands can qualify. This semi is still unpredictable, Semi 2 is much easier...
