No way :gr: will fail, considering the professional rehearsals and reviews!

after watching the jury show i would say that serbia, russia, greece, finland and belgium will reach the final 100%. all other songs are more or less weak.
i loved the opening of the show and the stage looks great!

Lets see if I can get this right.

First, my nailed on qualifiers :

Belgium
Greece
Estonia
Russia
Romania

Now, the likely qualifiers :

Armenia
Georgia
Denmark

So from the remaining ones, my picks are :

Albania
Serbia (close between them and Finland)

So my final 10 are :

Armenia
Belgium
Greece
Estonia
Serbia
Russia
Denmark
Albania
Romania
Georgia

Must add my prediction is not based entirely on who I want to go through, just who I think will make it through the Jury and televote. That's the tough part of predictions!

Prediction before the rehearals:

Russia
Estonia Pretty sure these two will qualify, unless there's a major upset.
Albania If she can belt it out
Armenia seen quite an impressive live rehearsal, made me feel positive towards them
Belgium will make for an interesting stand out
Romania solid song, professional band, will get jury support
Greece power ballads always sneak through in the end and she does deliver
Hungary in with a chance of looking different from all the rest, may garner bits of support from here and there.
Denmark happy clappy uptempo, those less exacting will take notice of it.
Belarus Moderately pleasing uptempo, i can sense a promising staging.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Georgia will prove to be too scary for ESC audience
The Netherlands Very catchy but too shallow, older singer won't help.
Serbia cheap gay anthems have been failing steadily
Macedonia Too bland to get noticed
Finland will bomb, too short, too aggressive, not connecting, not easy on the eye.
Moldova, cheap looking singer, shouty song.

It will be interesting to see what changes after the rehearsals get going.

Prediction after rehearsals in decreasing order of certainty:

Russia
Estonia
Romania
These three seem polished enough.
Greece Still a power, bond esque ballad and it's being delivered.
Georgia Still evil looking, but staging is impressive and fitting. Her vocals need restoring though.
Armenia Great vocal range, harmonies are in place, staging is effective.
Hungary Beautifully done. Its stillness has a menacing quality to it which makes it stand out.
Belgium In a place of its own, it's bound to get noticed by enough people.
Denmark Still as happy clappy as ever. Still sure it will find an audience.
Serbia Still as cheap as toilet paper, but staging is lots of fun and her vocals won't allow juries to place anywhere last.

Moldova They have managed to polish this and put it togetther. It is still too vulgar and a tad bit dirty for ESC, I feel.
Albania She's finally belting it out, but there's far more instant ballads in this semi, she doesn't look too good and I'm afraid all people will remember is a lady screaming very much and no melody attached.
Belarus No staging after all, feel song alone is not enough.
The Netherlands Think it went down the drain along with the outfit changing frenzy.
Finland Same as before.
Macedonia It was never much to begin with, but they've screwed its slim chances.

A week ago:

So far, from the first rehearsals (in no particular order):

:ru: :gr: :ge: :am: :ro: (Strong qualification rate should be maintained this year too, strong solid efforts)
:rs: :ee: :hu: :al: :dk:

And then: :be: :md: :nl: :by: :fi: :mk:

Pre-semifinal prediction:

Safe 5:

:ru: - apart from the advantage of being a song from Russia, this is a well-performed ballad, with a very likable singer. In my books, they deserve to go through.
:gr: - average ballad, excellent performance should see this sail through
:ge: - singing last, effective staging, song doing well in polls, couple of allies.
:am: - diaspora in this semi, staging is great, good rehearsals should ensure a good performance
:ro: - same as above.

Then:

:be: - good reception. Should go through but not a given thing.
:ee: - whenever they sent a good song (done well in polls) they qualified, didn't they? Striking staging too
:rs: - Hera Bjork version campfest. Plus, Serbia always has a slight advantage too.
:hu: - probably more because of the juries. Excellent staging.
:md: - had this as a no-hoper but the staging is like :pl: 2014's relative. Could (unfairly) go through

Missing out:

:dk: - Denmark does well with these kind of 'safe' songs' but competition is tough tonight... and Moldova's she-bang could put this in trouble.
:fi: - won't be surprised if this one makes it. At the moment I reckon juries will bring this down.
:al: - unless vocals are flawless, I can see this missing out
:nl: - televoting-unfriendly country, weak staging
:by: - they have a habit of sneaking in every now & then but honestly can't see this one standing out
:mk: - unremarkable. Will be immediately walked over by Serbia

So basically I'm replacing Denmark and Albania, with Belgium and Moldova.
