but with the new rule saiyng that you must host a NF it's impossible for them to return :((

This rule is fake, it was an idea, however the BBC confirmed via facebook that this wasn't being implimented.

As far as withdrawing countries, I think the Netherlands may start considering or even Spain.

body in Bulgaria, heart in Greece (^_^)
If I was the spanish broadcaster i would think of withdraw. They sent totally great entries in the last years and...nothing. I think Spain is one of the most underrated countries (along with Slovakia, Hungary, Portugal, Cyprus and Bulgaria).

Spain doesn't care about its results. I don't think TVE really wants to win anyway, too much hastle.

Maybe Portugal withdraw?

In 2010, Portugal was the first country to confirm the public broadcaster’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. But this year everything’s different: The country has a new Prime-Minister with a daunting programme, agreed with the EU and the IMF, that requires his government to cut the budget deficit from 9 per cent of gross domestic product last year to 3 per cent in 2013 and to implement structural reforms that no previous government has attempted. Not content with this challenge, the new Prime-Minister, Mr. Pedro Passos Coelho, aims to go beyond the requirements of the rescue agreement, promising, for example, to accelerate and expand the privatization programme. The Public Broadcaster RTP is to be sold off, leaving only one non-commercial public service channel – he confirmed earlier this afternoon to “Financial Times”.

A source from RTP told oikotimes.com that it’s almost certain that the new government will hire a new administration for the company. The future President of RTP will have as main mission to prepare the sale of the broadcaster. It’s unknown whether the rights to broadcast the Eurovision will be transferred to the future privatized channel or if, on the other hand, keeps on the single public channel. Until then, the question is whether in the midst of such a fundamental decision for RTP, it will remain available time to think about the Eurovision Song Contest…

Let’s wait to see what will happen…

Let's see what will happen with Portugal. I don't think Portugese people will permit all the ******************** the new government, IMF and friends want to make. Not only about ESC of course... ;)

BAKU, JUNE 13, ARMENPRESS:

Head of the Azerbaijani so-called "Karabakhi Liberation Organization" Akif Nagi stated that the participation of Armenia in "Eurovision 2012" is inadmissible. Nagi threatened that if the authorities will allow Armenians come to Baku they will "regret it".

"If the state displays strict position and grounds it, the international organizations will accept it. In the opposite case, there is no necessity to conduct it in Azerbaijan. Armenians must not come to Baku as we are conflicting with them. The international organizations understand it as well", he said.

The leader of the KLO threatened that if Armenians arrive in Azerbaijan for "Eurovision", "unpleasant incidents will take place". "We now warn the authorities that if Armenians arrive in Baku the event will have painful outcome", Nagi stated.

And once they achieved that, THEN they'e going to withdraw???????!!??? ;)

They could try and go for the win then
If Portugal withdraw, Eurovision will lose a lot of fun. Portuguese entries are always so colourful and smile inducing. It'd be a shame to see them go, so hopefully they keep on getting poor results forever :)
