There are very strong rumours that our Eurovision act could be revealed on Friday during the final of The Traitors! Which would make sense as it’s now the most watched TV show in the UK (other than Eurovision, obviously).

I have visions of our act standing there with a Traitors cloak on - perhaps an announcement of an announcement rather than the full reveal?

That sounds pretty cool if it happens. I like how slightly off the wall that is.

In my head, January is ‘early’ to announce the UK act - knowing full well we announced Olly in the December before the contest. So it’s not - and I’ll welcome it now to bring a bit of buzz to January itself.

A reveal or an announcement of a reveal between The Traitors finale and Traitors Uncloaked would be great publicity for the show. I’ll be watching regardless, so a nice bonus if Eurovision is back on the radar once again.

(Also nice to be back on here. 👋 Took a fair few months off for my own sake, so slowly but surely I’ll be posting regularly once again)

And as this duplicate posted, I thought I saw rumours of Tom Walker (Leave a Light On) potentially being our entrant.

Great voice. Apart from Leave a Light On I find his songs a bit…meh, but I think a solid vocalist is the absolute must now after 2 years of weak grand final vocal showings.

We really do gas light ourselves every single year, only to get given some name from no where with a midtempo inoffensive pop song.

The leaker or insider has now confirmed it is NOT Tom Walker! Thank Goodness

It's gotta be Loreen then, given that she hosts the show.

Do we really trust a leaker? Frankly I find that whole logic weird as they could just be making it up. They’ve confirmed nothing.

I’m not saying they’re wrong (they might be), but it often feels like fans take the words of one leaker as gospel for reasons I never truly understand.

BBC Radio 2 said this afternoon that there’s “Eurovision news coming up”… but as far as I can see, nothing was announced or mentioned on air. Twitter is going bananas right now at the idea of a Traitors reveal

soooo many normally reputable accounts are going with it now… imagine if it’s wrong!

Watch it just be an announcement of an announcement 🤣

Think the big announcement was Samantha Mumba is competing at :ie: Eurosong. :D

It would have been huge in 2001 or 2002 - but not in 2025 when she's competing with the weakest song of the whole NF :D
Of course, we think know that the BBC would hype it up thinking it's something Europe would be excited about :D

It is still news though. I really don’t get the over reaction from some.

Radio 2 plays Samantha Mumba songs, it’s a big champion of Eurovision (whether fans appreciate that or not - compared to Radio 1 which still views it with disdain) so therefore linking the two makes sense.

Was it the biggest news ever? No, it was never promised to be. Fans added 2+2 and got 7….

I haven't heard a Samantha Mumba song on the radio since 2001 - she's clearly known by older ESC fans who actively listened to the radio and followed the charts in the Bubblegum era but it's not the act we were thinking of when Ireland was teasing us by "internationally known artist with zillions of Plays on Spotify who got a direct spot at the Irish NF without having to audition" days ahead of the song's release.
I think that's why fans are quite disappointed.
If you allow directly invite an artist to your NF and try to sell it to us fans, the song needs to be competitive.

It's nice to see that the ESC gets some exposure on the British Isles now, though.

A delusional user of ESC kompakt thought it would be Dermot Kennedy. :ROFLMAO:
