OK UK, that’s another good song. But it’s down the same lane as Unicorn. 8 points for now.

its still early days but Non-UK people on this forum, where do you realistically seeing this finishing? I can see it finishing between 10th and 15th, could go slightly higher imo if the staging is right.

I think the performances at the pre-parties is where I think the judgement will come, but given Mae Muller has been on the big US Talkshows performing, Ive got no doubt she can do well.

I love both songs, but Unicorn feels disjointed whereas this flows a lot better imo
Unicorn is the song I keep repeating though. It has a certain something.

I have no idea. Her vocals have quite an amount of effects on them, so idk how it will sound live.
I think it will sound very different.

On the song in general:
I like the song, especially the bigining, but I'm not a huge fan of chorus, so :7:

I suppose because Mae's song is quintessential British pop, I love it. It's also the kind of song I'd expect to hear in the areas I meet socially - so it's familiar!

On the subject of live vocals - Mae supported Little Mix on tour a few years ago and was vocally sound. I just hope they include the big note at the end on final night!

I hope so as well, I recon a top 10 is doable but the staging has to be right imo.

I see it in top 15 if performed well. And that's very respectable and better than many often see it. Top 10 is, or should be, for very high quality songs. Some of these always end up in top 15 instead (thinking about Ochman for Poland last year in 12. place).

And if an indie rock girl like me (who does NOT like girl bops) can slowly, and surprisingly, start to like Mae's song... then I think a lot of people will. I have it in 10. place right now and actually can't believe it! I can't say it out load among my musically snobbish gang of indie friends... but neither did I tell them I'm getting hooked on ESC ;)

I feel this will finish between 15th and 20th. If they mess up it will finish under 21st. Difficult to see this last place btw.

I'm becoming absolutely obsessed with our entry. I think somehow even more so than I was with Australia this year on its release. I can't stop listening to it. How do I go about the whole giving your own country 12 points thing without looking sus? Asking for a friend.

No seriously. I keep going back to this to listen, I'm at work and catch myself singing along under my breath. I'm feeling an upgrade from 10 to 12.

This is pretty good, actually. Although I somehow get a bit of a Imaani / Jemini vibe off the song... strange...
But it's a nice, contemporary radio pop tune - might even be a grower over time.

Good luck, United Kingdom.

So, the Heads of Delegation meeting is today. This is usually when the Host draws their running order position for the final, so there's a good chance we'll find that out today.

Definitely feels like the kind of entry that needs a good draw, so fingers crossed.

Shading a song to praise another. wow

Anyway, all that autotune won't work the final night so nothing much to expect in terms of on the full scoreboard in the end.
I don’t like the uk song but what auto tune? Mae doesn’t use it

Babes I Wrote A Song is a banger and it is definitely better than Unicorn if we start comparing songs already
Please Brits give your own country's song a 12 if you'd like it!!! I get that it feels weird after all those years but you feel better when you click that cast vote

Will it be only the UK (as the host country) or will it be Ukraine, as well (as the previous year's winner)?

I wondered if that would come today or not. Watch us pull a 2 or something.

It really comes down to staging and maybe a bit as well how well other songs in similar „categories“ will do. I don’t think she has too much competition in the „girlbop“ category, I only see Austria and Israel somewhat fit it, and I think Mae might be the most „traditional“ of those. Which could be Good or bad, but I am assuming it’s actually a good thing. If the staging is AMAZING, she could make it to Top 5, Although I see a Top 10 as a little more realistic. If the staging isn’t amazing, I would see her do Top 15. If they really f*** up, everything between 16th to 25th is possible.
