I'm afraid the backing track is obnoxiously addictive (in a good way) and overall the song is pretty good. Obviously coming after last year's success it is a little disappointing, but I'd say it is still better than 80% of songs the UK sent last decade. I'll give it a :7: for now, especially for having structure compared to Israel which is another female bop released like yesterday.

And yes, this does feel like a song people would really like, and dance to during the show, but then no one votes for it.

I have no idea how the song will do in May (maybe with a good staging there is still a few things possible), but it is not my song at all. Neither the lyrics nor the music excites me unfortunately. I don't like Blanka at all and this is very similiar kind of song to me. :( I doubt that UK will receive many Jury points, but maybe - if staged right - points from the televoters. From me only :4:.

I just saw the music video and I loved it! Is it just me or does the production of the track sound much fuller in that version? Besides the talking part ofc
I thought that re the production too. Thought maybe my radio just isn't great quality

Now that I took a moment to breathe...It's not a bad entry and it's somewhat relevant to the British music industry. This would've probably scalped me in 2013ish if it came from the UK but now...ok we lowkey gaslighted ourselves into thinking UK could send some bigger name. I blame this 66 pages thread full of nothing but speculation.

This is kinda like us sending a Ester Peony song when we have Minelli. "Space man" doing so good remains a mystery to me because it doesn't feel like BBC learned something. It's the same good ol' BBC, balance is restored to the universe lol

I've never heard of her before. I think it's pretty good, she is also excellent at live vocals. I think the song is just a shell or a tool and the real selling point here is Mae Muller and her charisma. I would've wished for something a little more game changing by the UK but the expectations were also sky high. :7:

About the negativity. I was under the impression this is a forum for people to express their views, positive or negative or neutral. As long as people are respectful they are entitled to a negative reaction to an entry, regardless how others feel about it.
of course people are free to express their negative comments, as much as others are free to express how they feel about those negative comments, and again the others are free to express how they feel about people commenting on negative comments. xrofl xrofl

Ok I have actually heard the song now and I like it especially the strings at the beginning. However I do quite like solo too tbh and think this is much better version of that.

I am not sure what I feel about the entry to be honest. It is a fresh song and definitely very UK modern music, but the song is average? And she looks like Israel's Noa. I am not sure if it's a step-up or step-down from last year's entry. I am giving this a :5:.

And also, Austria's Edgar Allan Poe wrote a better song.

Ah, you’re a joker. Good for you.

The only positive about this announcement, is the speculation is over.

It's....... good? Great even when put side by side the vast majority of songs competing this year. I've wanted us to send along the lines of what this is giving us (contemporary R&B/pop mixture) for years now, and finally we've done it. We haven't got Katy B or Jorja Smith but instead we've got Mae Muller. I think the song is fiendishly catchy. One listen was all it took and I remembered the whole of it. That duh duh duh duh da di bit is reminding me of Norway's Marika Lejon. It's all really very well done and pretty much an instant earworm. I think there's a lot to like here, especially Mae herself if that video (our @randajad is going to be getting his UK fashion tips for sure from it) is but a taste of what she can deliver to us in Liverpool.

I haven't seen what she's like live yet but I think we're far from in trouble with this. Like come on, really? I think it's the best entry we've sent since I can remember, and holding what we're sending this highly is a new, very weird experience for me. I'm so used to being skeptical and extremely critical of our entries, and how we handle them. I feel like I'm sinning by really liking an entry from my own country. I was lukewarm with Sam and Newman, but Mae already passed that. I enjoy this entry a lot. Yaaaaaaaaaay!
